Why are women bullying Japan’s ‘herbivore’ men?

Apparently, 60% to 70% of young Japanese men are ‘herbivores’: men who have little or no interest in sex and relationships.

Why is there so much outrage about this? Why are women bullying and shaming them? I saw a documentary recently where a female Western interviewer was interviewing some herbivores and making fun of them and trying to shame them into ‘growing up’. But they’re not harming anyone. So what’s the problem? Even the Japanese women interviewed had negative views of herbivores, criticizing them and shaming them (the term ‘herbivore’ was actually created as an insult by a female Japanese researcher, but herbivores have themselves since reclaimed the word). The herbivores, however, didn’t really express any negative view of women. They were just polite and happy in their own lifestyle.

Women are simply disgusted by herbivore men.

Women are frustrated that their dating/sex/relationship/marriage chances are reduced by the popularity of herbivorism.

Its no surprise that with the overabundance of P*rnography in Japan, Japanese men are losing interest. Hentai unrealistically depicts women, while purposefully being unrealistic in order to remind the viewers that its not real. But isn't It?

Granted, the actual Hentai is not real, but the experience felt while indulging in them certainly is. It has a very strong pull that is hard to resist. The women are unsurprisingly upset about this, but they are to blame for this. Why?

Women in general overdo feminism. They shave their legs, fancy their hair, wear colorful panties and short skirts, wear cleavage to show off something that's simply a secondary sex characteristic, and show off their their primped asses for attention. Women in general place great emphasis on their bodies, but what about their minds?

When you watch, or play Hentai, it doesn't just appeal to you sexually. It also appeals to you emotionally. The girls (Or guys) have personality, emotions, dislikes and likes, which make them feel real. In the real world, while Women in Japan look are physically attractive, mentally they are dull and boring.

Women seem to think that Men only care about looks. They're wrong. It doesn't matter how attractive she is. If she has no personality, or kindness, men will have no interest in her. Sooner or later, the ones that do will grow tired of her and move on.

Anytime a man doesn't want a woman, she finds fault in the man. If a man doesn't want to marry some bitch that is always starting fights, then it is because the man is too weak to handle a strong and independent woman, or that she intimidates all of the men. We hear that nonsense all the time.

Lots of men in America are also doing the same as the Japanese, and getting made fun of by women, for being lesser men. However in Japan dating sims are very popular and I think that a simulated girl, is enough for a lot of these guys. So we see more Japanese men, giving up on women, than in other countries. I have heard it said that the Japanese actually believe everything has a soul. That could include a virtual girlfriend.

Like always women have to create an excuse for why so many Japaneses men are not interested in them. So they make fun of these Japanese men for not being real men in an attempt to shame as many men away from that lifestyle as possible. At the same time many of these same women proudly proclaim that a woman isn't any less for not having a man.

Neither as I think the bullying is likely the same reason guys bully Japan's 'herbivore' gal. That reason being I find society has some issue with the notion that others do not desire dating/sex/relationship/marriage.

I don't think there is so much outrage about it. Especially as it seems even more gals are herbivores than guys going by statistics.

Source as the last I checked it was 39% of guys and 59% of gals that were herbivores ( www.ocregister.com/.../young-512473-japan-one.html ). The statistics keep rising (many false propaganda by MRAs/anti feminists) however all the ones I've seen always had gals being higher so I doubt the shaming is due to gals being frustrated out of lack of options.

I state gals are almost always as it seems the only instance gals aren't higher is in not wanting a romantic relationship with 23% of gals saying they don't and 27% of guys saying they don't.

Maybe it's because men are supposed to be interested in those things, especially sex. Maybe it's because the interviewer is upset that these herbivore aren't acting like "real" men.

I know at least in Tokyo, the rising number of singles is considered a problem, especially since Japan has a negative population growth rate. I read somewhere that the cause of this problem might be because of the many social services over there offered to women. The hypothesis being, the more services available to help women, the less men feel inclined to provide and protect women, which ties in to relationship with women. So the guys just end up doing their own thing, with women doing the same. The end result being both think of relationships passively.

well no, they're not harming anyone, but it's weird. It's not normal. Normal for men is to want sex. There are always some individuals who don't but 70%? No way. Attraction and lust is not something you can just turn off. It's not possible, so ya there must be some underlying psychological issue behind that phenomena and immaturity is just the most obvious one

I would say its because they are bitter. Women want guys to chase them even if they don't want to admit it openly. If the men aren't chasing, this causes resentment, anger and frustration.

As you have seen on GaG many men crave attention from women too, hence we see resentment, anger and frustration from men too. This is why im a bit suprised 60-70% of the men in japan are that way.

The quote was that 59% of gals are uninterested. It wasn't talking about guys other than that gals disinterest is considerably higher than the guys.
