Believe it or not, gargle and swish with some liquor (whisky, scotch, rum, etc.. ) especially after eating. Ditch the motrin for now, but pick it up again after your dentist's appointment :)
The alcohol inside liquor (ethanol) has germ killing properties and if you accidently swallow it then you've taken a gulp of a classic drink. It is these germs that often are behind the inflammation of tissue. It is also a nice solution for soar throats if you're not into gargling salt water.
Do -not-, I repeat NOT, put rubbing alcohol (isoproperol) in your mouth - swallowing can actually make you go blind.
If you have an electric toothbrush, a good expensive one, a simple brush can work, or a preassurized water jet (my wife uses that to clean in between her teeth instead of floss, lol). Handbrushing isn't nearly as effective (you're better off with the liquor at that point).
If you get the pain to go down before Wednesday, update your question and let us know what worked for you!

you may have sensitive teeth due to the enamel on your teeth weakening try using sensidyne toothpaste and pronamle toothpaste one is to help with the sensitivity and one builds back up your enamel. you brush twice a day every day and use one the first brush and the other the second brush. Tell you dentist what i suggested and see what he or she thinks. your dentist may also find that it could be a different problem but i know for me that was the issue and it helped a lot.
Het some clove oil and mix it with a carrier such as olive oil or coconut oil, and pull it. (Its really hard to explain how to do oil pulling) but you can google clove oil pulliing for tooth ache, and there is bound to be sokething that, can properly explain this. Its very important that you use aa caarrier though, clove oil by itsself is veey strong and can damage your mouth.
It happened to me and I used cinnamon to reduce the pain. I didn't have medication and had a huge tooth ache in the middle of the night and it helped a lot

Heat some water, like you would for coffee. In a mug fill about 1/3 of it with mouthwash. The rest with of it with the hot water. You can add a little bit of salt too if you want. Then just swish it around in your mouth and spit it out. Repeat. Just don't swallow it.
You can do the same thing with whiskey instead of mouthwash...that you can swallow. ;-)Hydrogen Peroxide.
