What do you think about hipsters?

I don't have a very positive opinion of them but my fashion style is defined as "hipster" (I like skinny jeans, converse sneakers, striped sweaters/tees, etc.) and I get offended when people label me that.

That sounds like what hipsters wore three or four years ago.

The one thing I can tell you about true hipsters, is that they are already on to something different by the time people are wearing what they wear in mass.

I wouldn't worry about what people call you, because they aren't informed enough to really know what they're talking about.

I don't know about hipster fashion but everyone I know said that their first impression of me was "hipster." Fashion wise, I'm not bothered. I'm more bothered by the ideology of "hipster" because hipster implies a twentysomething with a very naively ideal view of the world, and also someone who lives on trust funds That's not me at all. I agree about not caring what people say but it's frustrating when what people think of you first is completely untrue.

You should really get beyond labels, otherwise what people say will eat you alive.

I've never met any self-admitted hipsters. I think everyone hates that label now because of such negative connotations. I did let it get to me for a few days. There was this one guy who kept saying I look like a hipster and other stuff and I just told him to f*** off in the end.

Being something doesn't make you any different from the rest of us. We're all something. And if people get it wrong, that's their problem. Nothing for you to stress.

Yup, hipsters hate wearing what in right now. For some reason there's something satisfying about being able to tell all your friends who are just barely wearing skinny jeans, "Oh, is that what they sell in stores around this time?". But if anyone calls you a hipster, just let them know that you'll let them have your clothes in a year or two.

Personally I think they're a bunch of losers, and I wanna go to the nearest coffee shop and start a hipster beat down. Just my opinion though.
