Lunch: Salad with 1/8 cup of cheese, 1/4 cup of ranch, and three cucumbers on top
Dinner: Plain salad and water
I also want to go on a low-fat diet for a month after I finish this diet for this month.
If you are dieting, This would do the trick. It's healthy, and with a bit of exercise to go hand in hand, you should be down to your normal weight in no time.
And no harm in having a half cup of sugarless ice cream, pudding, things like this for a snack here and there. You need some calcium as well.
Also, taking a woman's Multivitamin, which is excellent as well, to keep up your energy and supplement what you don't Get, is a helpful hint as well.
When I'm home, I virtually eat a salad with turkey breast everyday. I also fill in with sugarless ice cream, sugarless puddings, fat free cottage cheese. I have been doing this for years, able to maintain a good weight, although at times I have fallen off the wagon. And of course, when I go out, I do cheat a bit. But I find that filling in with Chinese or Japanese food also helps me keep thin.
Good luck. xx
Why would it come across and nasty? What's that supposed to mean?
It's cool :-)
Hi :-))
Yeah :)) I had some for lunch yesterday and the day before :))
I'm going to eat some plain salad for dinner today,
Great deal... And like I say, you can fill in with some sugar free ice cream, yogurt, FF pudding, just a snack like... And Last nite was hectic for me, so I wasn't too hungry, not much of an appetite yesterday, so just had a bit of cottage FF, with a dip of peanut butter, and some cornflakes with skim milk yesterday... I also was up half the nite doing the laundry, feeling my energy... Now I am a but more hungry, and am looking forward later to my usual salad...:)) xx
Sounds great!!
Thanks!! But I haven't really lost any weight yet, and I might not ever lose any. I've been the same weight for several months, despite how healthy I eat and how much exercise I do.
I'm just doing this to eat healthy instead of eating unhealthy foods.
Oh, okay, I see... If you do plan on doing this incessantly, for I know myself when I am home, I eat like a bird, but I do cheat from time to time... Get a list of healthy food items, such as your whole grains, fruits, vegetables, snacks which are healthy, and combine a menu together. I was under the assumption it was a diet for you to lose weight, which this would help. However, if it is going to incessant, and of course you could lose weight by even that, compile this for yourself. By my turkey and ruffage salad every day, I have a piece of bread with this, my FF cottage cheese, a dab of peanut butter, Sugarless ice cream, pudding, cornflakes with skim milk, and it helps maintain my weight, plus exercise. I also eat fresh fruit from the back yard from time to time, and when I go out I cheat some.
Great idea!! Very creative.
I was actually doing this to lose weight, then I realized how much of a struggle it is for me.
lol... I am used to the salad thing, and even go out many times if in a diner or rest and eat a Chef's salad which has everything... It does get old, but I am used to it, but I do cheat and when I do, I load up on lettuce... Good deal, get this together... and they do have some mighty fine ideas not starving you, but providing healthy for you, and just to have and cut your portions down is a good way to lose weight. And exercise helps, goes hand in hand, like even a 25-20 minute walks a day. xx
I usually try to walk for at least 30 minuets a day, three to four times out of the week, and it hasn't helped much. School is also making this very difficult for me.
Salad is pretty good, but sometimes I get tired of eating it, but I need to stay healthy.
I know it won't help me lose weight (nothing will), but it'll prevent me from gaining more.
I had forgotten earlier to mention this, may be important in Why the weight is not dropping like it should. Go see your doctor and have your Thyroid examined. May be under active, this regulates a lot with our body. Yours may be under active and you may have a throid problem, which many people have. Some people, such as my male cousin, has Graves disease which is affiliated with thyroid and he needs meds for it. I have a friend who has battled the bulge for years and she has an under active thyroid, always on a diet. It has been difficult for her to lose weight, she is up and down like a yo yo.
I already got my thyroid checked, and they said it was normal. But there has to be a reason why I'm not losing weight.
It makes no sense to eat healthily and exercise and not lose a single pound for a month.
I'm not going to bother talking to a nutritionist- they confuse me, and change their minds too much and it's irritating.
Oh, good you Got this checked out... Get checked too for sugar diabetes... Just another suggestion... I don't know why, unless it is something you are eating that you don't feel will put weight on... Lay off the cream cheese on the bagel, maybe lightly butter it with a margarine like, or just some fruit. Many times in the morn, I just have a sugarless pudding cup, or maybe FF cottage cheese with a spoon of peanut butter, nothing else all day, maybe a snack of some berries or just dinner later.
You're welcome!! And thanks!! :))
Paris13- your salad with turkey would be a major improvement over QA's diet which would benefit heavily from having lean protein added. 1/2 a bagel is probably just enough to make her feel crappy moving in and out of ketosis but she isn't eating enough protein to support it, so her body will be burning muscle.
:)) xoxo
I don't think you should diet. Just eat more healthily in general. You need a bit of grubbiness (treats if you like) in any endeavour, including your diet, or it becomes cold and ascetic, and ultimately unsustainable. Allow yourself some pleasures. The minimum you should be eating, and this is if you are significantly overweight, is 1700 calories. How much is in that? I don't do cups, but I estimate around 500 calories. Sounds like you have a pretty unhealthy relationship with food, tbh, like it's used as a means of control. You need a lot more carbs, or you're going to be severely undernourished. Sweet potatoes, brown rice, brown bread, lots of vegetables, should be the mainstay of any diet. Along with, to a lesser extent, some lean meats, nuts, fruits, legumes, etc.
Not good because it leads to a sense of deprivation which could end up making you eat even more of all foods.
Google anything to do with carbohydrate control. Don't just read about diets. Learn about insulin, blood sugar spikes, etc. With this basis you can build a solid foundation of good eating without feeling like you're starving all the time.

No. you can;t live on salad. You need some fat and some complex carbs. Work out energy needs (body weight in lbs x 12). Any activity will burn cals so that needs to be added, like burning 200 jogging would increase your maintenance cals you worked out by 200. Then you reduce the cals, up the activity or both to achieve net negative energy. Weight gain/loss is just maths, but you need to not starve by reducing intake too much it's not healthy and the body will resist.
No, you need dairy, protein, good fats, veggies. This is a very limited diet your body won't thank you in the long run, believe me, I've tried it. You won't be able to sustain it long term, your metabolism will slow down and eventually your body will start to hng onto absolutely everything to keep itself going. Out of interest, if this isn't considered a low-fat diet, what is?
No. It sucks. Badly. I don't care how aggressively you want to lose weight, this isn't the right diet.
You will feel like crap, lose lean mass not just fat, and in fact not even maximize your fat loss.
That is seriously low in calories. I'd add snacks between meals at least. A handful of nuts or fruit or some thing.
It sound really boring.
Also, if you are used to follow a normal diet, then this is not enough calories, for your body. It may cause radical weight loss now, but it's not worth it. Because in the end, you will have to cut down on the calories so low, in order to lose weight, that your body can't function.
It may be boring, but it's healthy.
At least I'm not stuffing my face with ice cream and fatty foods.
Also, can you please explain what you mean by this: "It may cause radical weight loss now, but it's not worth it. Because in the end, you will have to cut down on the calories so low, in order to lose weight, that your body can't function. "
That's pretty much what I'm already doing.
Its not healthy to eat the same every day. You still need fat and proteins, and that diet doesn't have much of it. Especially the proteins. I can assure you, you won't get all the nutrients your body needs, from eating mostly salad.
The lowest calorie amount you (in general) can eat before it gets unhealthy, is 1200 calories a day.
If you stay there, you'll be fine. In the beginning of every weightloss it's incredibly easy, but at some point you are gonna plateau (stop losing) where you will have to eat even less, in order to lose weight. And if you already, are getting a really low amount of calories, then it won't take much, for it to become really unhealthy. When/if you start eating normal again, the jump will be too big, and you will be likely to gain it all back. And you won't be able to keep the low calorie diet up forever, because your body will be long term damaged by that.
I see what you're saying.
So if I added the protein, would it be healthy to eat the same everyday?
If you are gonna eat the same very single day, for one whole month. Then I suggest you read up on the most important nutrients your body needs, and put together a diet, that is rich on all of them. :)
OKay I will do that!! Thanks for answering.
You don't have to starve. I would go with the tim noakes diet add lots more protein and healthy fats and oils. It doesn't even feel like a diet I swear.
It's really unhealthy and you're going to loose weight only to gain it back (and more) after
I don't see how it's unhealthy. Isn't salad good for us? At least I'm not eating fried, greasy foods, junk foods, or soda.
Because the only calorific food you have are unhealthy and it's not enough food. Your body will starve. Eat at least 1800 calories (of real food!!!) and do strength training and your fat will be gone soon enough. And this diet is not low fat at all. I would say that around 50% of your calories will come from fat
Okay
Unless you a midget. I dont see point of eating below 1k cals
I'm 5'6" tall XD
And still eat below 1k? Why
So I can lose weight?
You can eat below 2k and still loose doe
Ummmm, ok?
You should ask your doctor really. But I think that doesn't sound like enough
