Oh an definitely include what inspires you to keep losing weight! I need some inspiration for sure!
do small, frequent workouts to keep your metabolism going throughout the day. The most important workout is first thing in the morning, before breakfast. This keeps your metabolism running at top efficiency all day so you will burn a lot more. use small weight to tone your arms, do situps, leg lifts, etc. (google it! just make sure you're doing stuff that doesn't push you too far in your current fitness level. as you lost weight and get fit, you can switch to more strenuous exercise).
Eat fruit for breakfast, try to cut back on processed foods like white bread and kiddie cereals and white rice etc. Fill up on veggies and lean proteins (salmon, turkey, shrimp, tuna, etc.) instead of red meat. Try to cut back on fatty condiments such as butter, salad dressing, mayo, etc. Don't cut all the fat out of your diet, just try to switch to more healthful fats, such as olive oil, flax, sunflower products, etc.
Watch your liquid calories Drink PLENTY of water, and maybe a glass of skim milk in the morning. Don't wait till you're thirsty to drink! remember, much of your excess weight could well be water retention. If your body is well-hydrated, it won't hold onto water as much and give you that icky, bloated feeling.
Good luck!
Thank you!! I definitely need to drink more water. That is pretty much all I drink (sometimes I get unsweetened iced tea) ... but I do not drink enough of it.
Yep. hydration is key!
for inspiration get a fat picture of yourself and a picture from a magazine that you wish to look like and tape it to the fridge or somewhere your constanly looking. that way it reminds you of your goal to lose weight. also you should take in less calories like 1000 a day. and drink nothing but water. also eat smaller meals 5 times a day, no snacks. don't keep snaks anywhere in your house so you won't be tempted to eat them. also try cereal for breakfast with skim milk everyday. and soup is also low in calories. try to walk a lot and exercize. no fast food or white bread, pasta. and any meat you eat should be no bigger then the size of your fist. I just had a baby and I look better then I did before I had her. I was 135lbs and I way 113 now. but I'm short I'm a little under 5feet. like 4 11.
1000 a day is WAY too low, dude. You'd need a lot fewer calories than she would. And I don't know about you, but seeing how far I have to go would kill my resolve before it inspired me.
I actually started out eating 1000 calories a day and it worked in the beginning, but then it stopped. My body was in starvation mode ... so it was holding onto the fat rather than getting rid of it. One of my friends told me that you are not supposed to have less than 1200 calories a day otherwise starvation mode will kick in ... so it may work in the beginning but definitely not in the long run. Your other tips are great though! thanks!
Yeah, I guess cause of my height it could be different. but a bowl of cereal is like 200 calories. and soup like 200. so if you eat that for b-fast and lunch that's 400 calories. so you can still have like 800 calories for dinner and healthy snacks. like fruit & yougurt. I like to count calories so I would eat 600 calories for dinner and 200 for desert once in awile.
That sounds good actually. I have been counting calories and it has been a lot of help so far!
There are various fat burners available in the market. These are powders that you have to consume. I would have mentioned the name right here but it is against the rules. :-(
Just ask your gym trainer before purchasing one and consuming it. Always take his/her advice first.
Also, you need to consume more carbohydrates than protein & fats. Carbs are the fuel from which we get energy. Cut on protein & fats. You have to workout 6 times a week.
May I know your meal ? What do you eat throughout the day ?
How long does your workout last ?

All the Best :-)
How do the fat burners work? I've heard they're dangerous and addictive.
I'm not sure I would go for fat burners or any other kind of weight loss pills/drugs etc. I want to do this 100% me and healthy, so that it stays off in the future. I'll definitely try to up my workouts to 6 times a week if I get the time. Unfortunately that's not always possible with school, work, and studying.
I used to eat wayyyy too much. Even now I can't eat nearly as much as I did a month ago. But my diet now consists of grilled chicken, occasional fish, whole wheat bread, everything..
Is fat free or reduced fat (ex: cheese, salad dressings, everything lol). I also eat salad with almost every dinner and I tend to snack on fruits.
I wouldn't recommend any supplements, etc. Could be dangerous.
It sounds counterintuitive, but you might not be eating enough. If your body feels that it is facing starvation, it will hold onto fat as long as it can. Eat when you're hungry, but only eat until you're not hungry, not until you're full. It works for me, at least.
I definitely agree with you. Supplements are not something I plan on ever taking. I don't think they are very natural or safe to be honest. Eating until I'm not full ... very good tip. Thank you!

Do NOT let yourself get hungry. Keep your calories down, but make sure what you're eating fills you up without making you feel stuffed. Eat intuitively; stop the moment you're full, food still on your plate or not (It's a waste to eat when you're already full anyway)
Yes, drink plenty of water, and take in as few calories from drinks as possible. Then there's the diet common-sense; fruits and veggies, lean meat and good fat, whole grains, and don't over-eat on healthy stuff like I tend to...
The only sugar you get daily should come from raw fruit, raw vegetables and low fat dairy.
Don't do anything you can't sustain for the rest of your life, and forgive yourself if you screw up.
Good luck :D
Thank you! Very helpful tips. I love how at the end you said to forgive yourself if you screw up.
It's so, so important... And you're very welcome.
that's really great that you're exercising at least 5 times a week. I've personally tried to cut down on the junk I eat sometimes. I'm already with a healthy BMI but I still work out and it makes me feel good.
i tend to drink a lot of tea and eat lots of homemade or vegetable/ fruit dishes. I don't like eating meat. but I eat fish which is really good for omega's and those are actually good in terms of heart health and other things. drink lots of water helps keep you full as well.
Thanks for your tips! The water one to make me feel full is definitely something I plan on using asap!
Don't have late night snacks. This is a common problem people always seem to forget. Never consume calories your not going to use. It's a waste and they get stored as fat overnight.
Hahaha ( : I actually don't and never have eaten late night snacks believe it or not. But am definitely guilty of consuming more calories than I use ... obviously. That is definitely something I will have to work on. Thanks for your advice!
you are already doing it right, patience, you will get there... I tend to listen to fast music when working out, that helps me...
Yes, you're right I really do need some patience. It'll happen. Fast music is such an awesome idea! I did that today while I was riding my bike. It definitely kept me pumped and working hard!
