Why do skinny girls want to gain weight?

I have that one skinny girl friend and she always wants to gain weight, I wonder why, her body is good tough (not a skeleton lol) and she has quite good curves

I used to try to gain weight, desperately. I felt that my body wasn't meaty enough. I used to have strangers, yes STRANGERS, come up to me and tell me to eat a hamburger or something. Or that "men don't like bones, they want meat". etc.
Usually, it came from overweight women.

My friend is like 75lbs. And no, I'm not exaggerating. She's literally 75, maybe 76lbs now. She's 4'9 though. And she's been trying to gain weight too.

Not all skinny girls wanna gain weight, I have slim friends who are happy with their slim size.
But I'd say it's half and half.
Why do we wanna gain weight? We feel we'd look better if we filled out. I buy my shirts from the damn kid's/pre-teen aisle sometimes lol that's how small I am up top. My friend, she can't even fit into a size double 0! She wear kids pants.

People need to accept their bodies. Its extremely hard in our society. I am recovering from an eating disorder so I know. Everyone has a different body type and weight that their body will maintain at, but unfortunately our world has extremely unrealistic standards and ideals for people.

Why do guys want to build muscle? The same reason they think they will look better it's not necessarily true like your friend could gain weight and put on a belly a guy could put on muscle and get freakishly big it's just everyone wants to be better than they are it's true for everyone.

Same reason people who are overweight want to loose weight. They think they will look better, and it's healthier.

Because hearing things like "you're so skinny," "you need to eat more," and "you're unhealthy" and having people talk about how much/what you eat gets annoying. Also they might want bigger boobs and more curves to impress guys.
