I did it last November.
It wasn't bad from the start (operation) until the healing of the wound, so let me tell you the story.
The reason I took it out was because my gums back there were infected since it is difficult for the toothbrush to reach. I took both wisdom teeth from the left side the same day.
The operation was nothing, really. You take the anaesthetic which feels like a short sting and then you literally feel nothing although the doc is almost slaughtering you. The upper tooth came out in one minute with a quick pull. But the one in the lower jaw was terrible! It was so strong that even the doc was impressed. He hit, pulled, hit again ''How can it be so strong? Unbelieveable!'' he said. He eventually cracked the tooth into 3 pieces and it took him one hour to remove all three. He told me that it will swell a LOT because the gums are infected. If I only knew what he really meant...
That evening was ok. I fell asleep that night and woke up the next day with a fever I will remember forever! I looked myself in the mirror and was shocked! My cheek was so swollen you could fill your hand with it, no shit! The next week was really terrible. I couldn't eat anything, so I was always hungry and I could barely drink water. I took all medication the doctor told me to take and after I finished my cheek was still swollen. So I visited the doctor again and he was surprised that Im still like that. He gave me antibiotics and after a second week at home I was normal again.
I have a picture of my swollen cheek.

yeah all at the same time. it doesn't hurt except when they poke the fuck out of your gums to numb them first. then when the numbing wears off it hurts like shit. but throughout the entire procedure, if you were numbed enough in the right places you won't feel shit. just hear a lot of noises.
Yeah, I had mine out last year (I was 22 at the time). I was put under because I have a major fear of the dentist and didn't want to be awake for the procedure. I was given tons of pain meds so I really didn't experience much pain, even afterward.
However, the pain meds (generic Vicodin) made me really tired all of the time, and super dizzy. Because of them I feel down in the shower, fell down the stairs multiple times, and just basically struggled to walk or move or do anything but sleep. I almost think the pain would have been better :P
yes, my cheeks were bigger than Nicki Manja's ass.

I had them done around your age. Not too bad. The worst part is that you can't fully open your mouth for a few days, like the tendons or ligaments or whatever just stiffen up. The pain wasn't that bad really, just a little tender the first few days. You might get chipmunk cheeks and a little bruising along your jaw too. And you'll get this plastic syringe that you'll have to flush out the holes with water. Overall, not that bad though, don't sweat it.
Plus them Percocets I got had me like...
www.mememaker.net/static/images/memes/2361762.jpgyeah i have. my experience was fine.. i was a little nervous but everything went well. they gave me painkillers and the pain was very manageable for me. i was put to sleep, so i didn't feel a thing while they did it. afterwards i was very loopy and drugged up and just napped on the couch for a while haha.
its recommended that you eat really soft foods like mashed potatoes, ice cream, pasta, pudding, applesauce and stuff like that. i ate burger king the next day though because i was ready to hahaha, i just took it really slow and carefully.
afterwards you will be swollen and you'll look like a chipmunk but the pain and swelling reduces after about a week. and you have to take good care and rinse out the holes where your teeth were after everytime you eat. it's pretty easy and basic to take care of.
fun fact: i only had 3 wisdom teeth!I had all 4 out when I was 19. Better to have them out now before you get older and the teeth are all impacted into the bone - that's procedure is worse.
My procedure wasn't too bad. They gave me nitrous oxide straight away, numbed my mouth, and drugged me up with Valium. I didn't feel a thing. All I heard was the conversation between the dentist and her assistant.
Afterwards, I was all swollen up and the only foods I was allowed to eat were soft and cold foods. Ice cream and frozen yogurt were recommended by my dentist because they're soft and the coldness keeps the swelling down. Just make sure there are no nuts or anything you have to chew.
Pain meds really help too. I was in a lot of pain so she put me on hydrocodone (Vicodin) for a couple of weeks. Really helped, especially when I started eating regular foods again after a few days.I had all four taken out at the same time. It didn't hurt at the time because I was sedated, but afterward it did I'm not going to lie. :(
I didn't take any of the pain pills they gave me though so I'm sure if I had taken them then it wouldn't have been so bad. I hate how pain meds make me feel though so I just put up with it.
I'm assuming you're probably asking because you're about to have yours removed? If so, don't worry about it because once it's all over with you will be so glad and never have to think of it again!Mine was terrible, two of mine were impacted so they had to be surgically removed. The pain after was bad. I left my vicodin at home and that was a big mistake. The anesthetics wore off before I could take my pain pills after the procedure. Take your pills with you you will need them about 30 minutes after your teeth are removed.
I've had 2 removed. It wasn't that bad. I was anaesthetised and only really felt slight pressure from when they were removing the tooth. Didn't have any pain but took painkillers for the 2 days after the operation, juust in case ahah. I've heard of people that had it much worse unfortunately..
Yes, I had all four of mine removed about 4 years ago. My experience wasn't too bad. It was painful for about a week and my jaw was swollen for a while but then it got better.
I never developed wisdom teeth, so I was lucky to pass on the ordeal. Everyone else has told me horror stories.
I did. And I had haw surgery.
It was a lot more painful than the surgery, but you recover fast and stuff.
Its really not bad after like a week.I haven't had any come in yet.
My sister was lucky, they came in without a hitch and didn't have to be removed.I'll have to take it out next month because of my braces. OMG! I'm extremely terrified. Like I'm really afraid. I had 4 of my pre molars extracted and it was an awful experience and now wisdom teeth OMG! I hope God will save me from those sufferings.
yeah it was really painful when the procedure was going on but the next day I was fine and went water skiing
I haven't had to (yet). Dentist said it doesn't look like they're causing a problem.
I had all 4 removed when I was 19. It was awful. I couldn't eat anything hard for a week. Lots of pain, lots of bleeding.
I still have mine but I think eventually I'll have to take it out.
I haven't yet, but I'll have to. And it will be horrible.
I had all 4 removed at the same time. It sucked, I had one dry socket and after I got that fixed, I got an infection. Yuck I hated it but I'm happy I had it done
Yes just last month actually.
The pain was not bad at all and i didn't even swell up. I did however black out on my way out of the dentists office lol :PThe pain wasn't that bad at all. I honestly think the dentist dooped me though... They were suppose to remove 4. I think he removed only 2
yes I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 22 instead of at 18 because when I was 18 my wisdom teeth weren't really growing in
