How can I physically overpower my brother?

Please I really need help finding out what I can do!! Don't tell me to call the cops or tell my parents it's not going to work. How can i overpower him physically he has anger issues and he gets violent my parents won't do anything because he has a slight condition... he's not exactly normal. We can't call the cops my parents will get rid of me and we have too many other problems that involved the cops so we can't do this. He 16 and I'm 19. I just don't know what to do I've tried to fight him but he's too much please help me. What are some techiques I can use? I don't want to hurt him or anything but what is a technique I can use to just put/keep him down?

women's self defense deals almost exclusively with this issue (that is, defending yourself from men, specifically men who are assumed to be bigger, stronger, and heavier than you are). It would involve hurting him, but not damaging him per se. I'm afraid I don't know much else about it besides it apparently hurts like hell to be the guy who dresses up in the protective suit so the women's self defense class students can beat the hell out of him. lol.

I know you said you don't want to hurt him, but this might be your best bet without years of studious learning. Look for a women's self defense class in your area and see if you can find one. Otherwise, look up some moves on the internet and maybe that can help you.

He attacks, you quickly step to the side to avoid, grab his hand/arm or leg (whatever he's attacking with), and use his power against him by continuing his movement. Trip him by placing your foot in front of his. He will fall. Do some punching or a "Wrist Lock" (search it online) to keep him on the floor.

Learn some kind of martial arts, doing martial arts right you can easily knock out opponents who are taller, heavier and stronger than you are! I'm doing ninjutsu and I personally find it really useful especially for defence towards attackers - and especially cool is that you can do damage to someone with it looking like you're just defending yourself ~ well it's evil but I find it pretty cool :)

Keep calm and advoid him intill u get stronger. Do crossfit and a healthy life style, move away too. But u need to call the cops or doctor or something to get him some meds.

I don't think I'll ever get stronger or taller than him I'm 19 and I'm done growing. And as for stronger I'd have to be on steroids. I can't call the cops and he refuses to take meds or see anyone. That's why I need fighting tips

Maybe put the meds in his food or move away. Pray about it too. And trust me crossfit changes people no matter what their age. Good crossfit before and after. Also if you try to gain muscle u will if u pick the right classes

First of all he's spoiled and wants everything all the brand name items when he doesn't get want he wants he gets mad. He's also controlling and possessive and he bullies my younger siblings and attacks my older sister. Today we got into a huge fight cause j was trying to protect my little brother and he ends up throwing me around tearing my shirt slamming me. And then he went outside and starts cursing and screaming on our driveway so everyone can hear

We have a cop that lives right next door but he's never done anything before and we don't exactly trust him. I'm so embarrassed he embarrassed our entire family the whole neighborhood heard him and he was playing victim and blaming me I don't know what to do I just wanna die. I just wish someone can save me I have some guy friends but what can I tell them? I live in the USA and I was just texting my dad about him and he said it's not that easy oh by the way my dad isn't that great either and my family live outside the country and the rest of my family here are backstabbing, lying, gosipping people. So I'm all alone.

You probably can't and I wouldn't recommend it... Why don't you buy some pepper spray and tell him if he doesn't keep his distance.. You'll spray him? This will be very effective.

Try to build up some muscle and strength at the gym. Is he "disabled"? And can he understand you?

He's not disabled. He just acts very abnormal and people can sometimes tell he's weird but he's far from stupid and he knows what he does is wrong but he likes doing the wrong things. My parents don't take action.

Has he been checked up or been put on medication? You could urge your parents to do something or try to tell you brother to stop. What are the kinds of things he does?
If it gets really bad have you considered moving out?

I have considered moving out but I need to protect my younger siblings. I'm scared for them. My parents won't do anything. He refuses to get medicated we even make sure he has it in his mouth but all he does is spit it out and he doesn't want to see a psychologist even though we are looking for one.

Try to bring it up with your parents, insist they do something. What about an intervention?

No, I hurt him pretty bad sometimes in defense, but that never really stopped him from doing it again. Your situation seems worse though because my parents didn't allow it to happen, but he would do it when they went out. I don't hate him. I swore I would in those moments, but it's pretty easy for me to let things go after a while when it involves people I care about.
