You may sue for any reason. But to actually be awarded a settlement you have to show that you have been injured by his negligence. It appears that your insurer would have a case but I don't see where you've been injured.
However if you are denied life insurance because of false statements he has made about you, then you would have a legitimate case.

Contact your insurance co. They'd be very interested in knowing he's billing them for "illnesses you don't have" or weren't treated for.
I think you possibly can you should really look into it. Possibly go to a different doctor to see if you do have the illness just to be safe. Does your insurance send you letters of what is being charged? That can help
