Like if they are getting in fights, not getting along with family members many parents do things to punish them like send them to boarding school or wilderness therapy. But do you think that the parents should (before doing that) make sure that there isn't a treatable mental illness that is causing this behavior?

Hey if my boyfriends parents had taken him to get tested for his bad anger issues before he got assault charges maybe he wouldn't be as angry as he is now. It's always a smart idea to get tested for mental issues

There's always a reason for someone's actions, so it's always best to look for the cause of whatever's making a teenager, or anyone for that matter, act this way.
