How do I become really good friends with this guy?

so I have this friend who I started to like but I want to get to know him more. I call him best friend sometimes(even though were not) but haven't in a long time. we do talk and stuff in person but never about anything deep. how do I get closer to him and talk about stuff other than school and sports and stuff? how do I become like actual best friends with him because I'm bad at becoming best friends with guys? I'm usually more of "i know your schedule and where you are 24/7 because you tell me " friends instead of the deep talk friend to guys.

it's not that difficult actually. Most of my friends are guys and guys are pretty simple to be with. Um first off, maybe don't be too clingy or push too hard to make him your best friend because people can also have a hunch you are trying too hard or what not. Just be yourself and take it slow, spend time with him and if you guys get along really well, it should just happen naturally. Another thing, how to talk about more stuff rather than school etc. ? Well first off you need to try and spend time with him out of school. like watch a movie, hang out with some friends including him etc so that you build good memories with this person. When that starts to happen, you will have more to talk about. That's basically how things start.

Just talk as normal. Talk online and stuff. But don't rush things too soon

This is my own problem...I too face it...just try to cross the limit of usual school or sports talk...let him know what you feel about him...but bit by bit...and see the response
