How can you take care of redness on skin?

So I used to have acne like a regular teen before I figured out how to take care of it. Now I don't get acne but I have redness I guess you could call them scars and they won't fade away or anything. Its been like this for a while so I was wondering what I could do to get the redness down or something. I heard vitamins work but I don't know what type..

I know exactly what your going through. I used to have really bad acne as well but with the help a dermatologist I have it clearing up nicely(: But I was still stuck with the redness, which really bothered me. So I did a lot of research and found out taking zinc along with vitamin A and E can help get rid of that redness along with reducing the scars a little. It has helped my face alot! Its also really good to help keep the breakouts away.

Go see a dermatologist! (ie, skin doctors) They will know what's best for you. In the meantime, google "acne scars". There are plenty of resources out there - stuff you can buy at the drugstore, stuff you can do at home, etc.

i would see one but I don't want to spend all that money and I don't know any good one or else I would because I really want to.. and ill google it thanks :)

Try talking to your parents. Let them know that you feel self-conscious about it, and maybe they will help. And yeah, maybe it's expensive, but you're a big boy - get a job, save up, then buy it if it means enough to you.

I have a job I'm trying to buy some more stuff for my car. I'm not all that self conscious I know that I can still pick up just as many girls its just more of anoying than anything.

As far as know there isn't really any effective way to get rid if it, I have looked and looked. The good thing is that red marks eventually fade, but it takes a really long time. (like probably longer than six months.)

dang that's a long time... do you know if vitamins work at all?

Zinc and fish oil supposedly help with acne, but I'm not sure about red marks. Acne.org is the best place I have seen for acne info. Following the "official" regimen on the site has been more effective for me than anything I've tried. (even better than meds I got from a dermatologist)
