Should I eat before running in the morning?

The most convenient time for me to run is in the morning. Yesterday I tried running before eating any breakfast and it turned out not to be the greatest idea, I was very dizzy by the end. So I figured I should eat something before running next time, but my question is, what should I eat and how much? Also, is there a certain amount of time that I should wait between eating and running? Any help is appreciated!
