My dream is to get down to a size 4.
First of all, is that even a realistic goal, and if so, how long will it take me to get there?
When losing weight, I get frustrated when I don't see results fast enough so I want to know so I can stay on target.
Here is my advice.
I have heard a lot of different ways that people lose a lot of weight. I think first of all, don't try the caffeine diet pills because if you go off of them, you will gain it all back.
Secondly, a good way to lose a lot of weight fast is to do a cleanse with a gastro-intestinal cleanse specifically. Usually people lose 5-10 lbs if they do a week-long cleanse. This is good because it's weight that you should have gotten rid of in the first place, and so it's not dangerous to lose it quickly. There are a lot of different cleanses.
Secondly, to keep the weight off, you have to add fiber to your diet every day. Fiber is in fiber bars, fiber cereals, some pastas, and whole grain breads. Anything with 3g fiber or more is good.
It is a good idea to cut out sugars or at least most sugars, but don't go on an Atkins diet. The guy who did the low-carb diet died from his diet. People who do those kinds of diets usually end up getting sick.
Thirdly, because you're 217 lbs, you probably need something like 100 grams of protein per day. It's really hard to get enough protein in your diet if you're bigger, and protein is what your muscles are made out of. So your muscles atrophy, and then it's even harder to exercise and lose weight. Protein is basically meat, eggs, skim milk, some cheeses, soy, protein drinks, beans.
Don't try to run. Walking has virtually the same benefit with less likelihood of injury. The most important thing is to get into a habit where you won't get injured. People who lose a ton of weight often say walking is the key.
People don't get the benefits of exercise if they are lonely. If you are lonely, work on making friends first.
Also, try to eat more fruits and vegetables. Avoid artificial sweeteners because they weaken your bones and are tumor growers, and also your body responds to it like sugar, and it makes fruits taste more sour.
Do not eat anything with partially hydrogenated oil, artificial sweetener, artificial coloring, or monosodium glutamate (especially important because MSG ruins your savory tastebuds by overexciting them so nothing else tastes good). Artificial tells you whether or not it's a gimmick that you're eating, and hydrogenated oils get stored as fats that are extremely difficult to metabolize.
Vitamin C has been shown to cut your fat intake by a third. Emergen-C is like a fizzy pop drink/koolade type substitute which is actually healthy for you and helps lose weight.
You are supposed to go for two pounds per month, but I would say go with your gut instincts. If you try to lose too much weight, you're going to end up gaining it back. The point is to avoid that.
Chocolate is OK: as long as it's a dark chocolate. The less processed, the better. Chocolate has a lot of minerals in it and antioxidants, before it is processed. It even has fiber.
In my opinion, soda/pop is really bad because it is an insane amount of sugar.
Avoid expensive pills.
Well, your goal is a bit unrealistic. It isn't healthy to lose more than 5 pounds per week. And that 5 pounds is stretching it. I am 5' 11", 135 lbs, and very athletic. A lot of that is muscle, as muscle weight more than fat. I wear size 7 or 9 in juniors, depending on the brand. My point is, you should aim to be size 6 to 8 misses, or 7 to 11 juniors. Drink a ton of water to 'clean out' your body. Maybe you could try a sport, such as swimming, or a team sport, where your teammates would be there to support you. Running isn't really effective if you don't have someone with you to push you. You could stop and sit down, or walk. No one would be there to keep you going, and no one would care. You should find something that you love to do and work hard to improve it. YOU have to be the one to decide to change, though. If you really want it, commit to it. Don't promise to do a workout, commit. And then you have to tell yourself to NEVER quit. When you finish something, you will be satisfied that YOU did it, and that you didn't quit.
Your BMI is around 33 which does put you in an unsafe range as far as such things as diabetes, heart disease, etc. From for calculations you are about 80 pounds in excess. That being said, it is much more dangerous to drop to an ideal weight in a very short time than it is to doing it slow and safe. It is safe to lose between 2 and 4 lbs a week. However, keep in mind 1) Muscle weighs more than fat, and 2) Guys like hips, boobs, and butt. Although for your weight, you should being in the +/- 10lbs range of 135, you can achieve a sexy and desirable body type by building and toning legs, abs, upper arms and glutes, all of which giving you a cut and sexy look. I suggest you begin a low impact workout of 45-60mins every other day on an elliptical machine. Going every other day will allow muscle tissue to grow and develop, including muscle mitochondria which devour fat on an increasing basis as muscle tones. AN elliptical workout will also allow the right muscles to tone and develop, namely the muscles you you tot support yourself. So, read all of this through and doing what is right for you. I am not talking of my butt, I am a senior Biological Sciences major with completed minors is psychology, zoology, physiology, and an half completed minor in exercise physiology.
you want to be between 118 and 159 (normal BMI) right now your considered obese in your BMI
which means youd need to lose around 76 lbs
i don't know what you need to be to get into a 4, I just wanted to let you know how much you need to be, to be healthy
Thanks
Yw, hope that helped
I'm 5'7" and weigh 140 and I'm a US size 10, if you dropped to 118 lb then you'd probably be around a size 4.
also, I recently lost 15 lb and may I suggest drinking loads and loads of green tea? like if you're getting a craving after you've had your dinner at like 9pm, have a cup. it helps clean out your system, speed up your metabolism, and it satiates you with 0 Calories.
Problem with green tea is that its an aphrodisiac, so while it may do that, it also "gets you in the mood"
But if it gets you in the mood, and you have a boyfriend.. then you can burn some calories! Haha. If you like lemons try drinking cold lemon water. I literally jug it whether I'm thirsty or not.
Well its supposed to, ur probably just weird, hahah
nah just messin, umm yeah, try it sometime
BMI is bullsh*t. my extremely skinny, but very toned boyfriend is considered "morbidly obese" by bmi. even doctors say it's crap.
Yet it still exists

To lose weight healthily and keep it off, you need to drop it at a rate of 1-2 pounds a week. If you lose it faster, you'll just gain it back, so don't look for any quick fixes.
One pound is equal to 3,500 calories, so to lose two pounds a week, you'll have to cut out 1,000 calories a day through diet and exercise. The easiest way to do this is to do about 45 minutes of cardio and 15-20 minutes of strength training 5 days a week, and to cut out 500 calories a day in your food consumption.
Also, you should try to cut out soda, diet soda, fruit juices, and all other liquid calories. Sparkling water is a great substitute because it's simply carbonated water and has no calories and is ten times better for you than diet soda. Try your best to eat lots of fruits and veggies every day and eat as much natural unprocessed food as possible.
Track your calories and exercise on link
to help you figure out portion size, fat content, and grams of sodium in your food. Cutting back on sodium will help you lose water weight and de-bloat. On this site, you can also enter your weight, weight loss goals, and activity level to calculate how many calories you should be eating each day to lose two pounds a week. Make sure to track your weight every week so your calorie allowance will be updated because as you lose weight, your calorie needs will change.
If you follow this plan and stay consistent, you should be able to lose 2 pounds a week until you hit your goal, which should take about 7 months or so.
Good luck!
It depends on how committed you are. When I was 12 years oldI was sort of overweight. I was 160 pounds. I told myself that I wanted to lose it, and I did it. It probably took a year or so with proper diet. I am now about 120-125 pounds. So anything is possible. I know it is hard, but you can do it!
To get into a size 4, you need to be probably around 130, because right now, I'm 140 and I'm a 6. Good luck on losing your weight, I know you'll be able to do it!
