Why doesn't my boyfriend call me beautiful, or pretty or cute,etc.?

I mean he's not like a super sensitive guy, but he's not a hard ass either, but I don't know he just never compliments me like that. We both joke around and I call him fat (he's not fat at all lol) and he says "why are you so ugly" and it's all in good fun, but it makes me wonder if he actually thinks I'm ugly?

Yesterday his mom told me that his aunt saw a pic of me and said I was really beautiful, and he quickly jumped in and said "I had to tell her you were 19 and in college so that she wouldn't think I'm dating some little girl" and he kinda laughed about it...but it's upsetting b.c I know I look young, I'm super short and really small but still, he says this but doesn't even acknowledge her calling me attractive?

I'm just wondering is this normal? We've been together for about a year

For some guys it's frustrating for them to compliment a girl in that way. Girls have a tendency to respond negatively such as:

"no I'm not"

"your lying"

"eww I'm ugly"

For guys they get sick of trying to get the girl to believe them and to reassure her that he does believe what he's saying that he's telling her the truth. with that being said, they do the opposite and they NEVER tell her. This for girls can be almost more hurtful. We long to be loved and lusted after but when we are for some of us, it's weird we aren't used to that kind of attention!

You're the one who chose him. Had it have been me, I would have friend zoned him and he would have never made it to boyfriend. How do you have sex with a guy who never compliments you? He does it because you put up with it. If you had not have accepted this in the beginning, and never gave the romantic time of day to a guy who did not make you feel beautiful and like a woman, then he would not have gotten the pleasure of being with you.

Idk hun I'm wondering too...bc I'm a lot younger than the guy I'm with and he use to say I was pretty in the beginning but now he never comments on my looks. I tell him how I love the way he looks often but he never returns with any kind words about my looks. Ik personality is big for him but I wonder if he's even attracted to me. :/

Some guys can't say cute things. I have a lot of trouble saying I Love You. It makes me sick even writing it. Its not that you are not beautiful. He probably feels embarrassed telling you. I know for sure he thinks you are beautiful, cute, and most of all pretty.

Some guys just have a hard time complimenting girls, they fear that it'll make the girl think that they're too open with compliments, but they don't realize that doing the opposite is just as bad to girls.
