You are tall. You don't need to wear 4 inch heels. But it's okay to feel this way, and I'll explain why:
1. Your perception of other people might be off. I am 5'2", my Mom is the same height but I think of her as being taller than me. And yet I went on a date with this guy, and he looked like he was the same height as me. But when I asked, he said he was 5'5". It sounds weird, but how you think of people can change your perception of their appearance. And there are other factors too- like if they have big hair, or a big forehead, or their eyes are higher or lower on the face than yours... they could look different. Maybe the girl was wearing heels and had big hair so she seemed taller. Maybe you are insecure so think these guys are taller but they're really the same height.
2. Or, maybe everyone at the mall really is taller than you. But 6'5" guys is not the norm, at least not in my town. In high school, I hung out with a lot of super skinny people, and it made me feel fat and overweight. But I would check BMI and body fat percentage, and I was totally normal and totally healthy. Then I go to college and realize that yeah, I actually am normal. I just happened to hang out with a lot of skinnier people in high school.
Sorry, that was a lot of rambling :p But my point is, don't worry about your height. What does it matter that the girl was as tall as you? You're fine just the way you are, don't worry :)
6'1 is tall height for man in USA.
6'1 is tall height in southern Europe countries.
6'1 is tall height in all Asia side.
But 6'1 is Not tall height in Netherlands or denmark , Switzerland. Because average male height is around between 5'11 - 6'0 in there.
I am 6'3 in the morning and 6'2.5 at evening. With shoes I am 6'4, with boots I can reach almost near to 6'5.
İn my opinion perfect height for man is between 6'5 - 6'7. Because usually girls find guys ideal Who are 8 inches taller then them and above.
Most attractive female height is between 5'9 - 6'1. So man must be 8 inches taller. That means 6'7 is perfect height for male with good body posture and muscles.
According to statistics, the national average height for men is 5'8". So yes, you are considered "taller than average. Yes, there are girls that are tall. I'm 5'11", without shoes on. I am taller than average. Just because a girl is tall, doesn't mean that you aren't. Stop complaining. You're fine
I'm 6'2' and I always used to feel like the tallest person anywhere I went 95% of the time. In the last few years that has changed I honestly think a huge chunk of the general public started wearing shoe lifts at some point that's my theory and no I haven't shrunk still measured myself at 6'2'. Part of it is also a optical illusion I'll see a massive looking dude that I think towers over me and I look in the mirror and we are the same height this is because your eyes are lower then the top of your head.
I feel the same way, dude. The way I see it, I've always been myself... At this point in my life, I only vaguely remember being a 4 foot tall child, and I still feel the same sometimes, even though my perspective has obviously changed... I mean... I can reach the cookie jar now and stuff, but I still don't feel any taller.
I don't think it's an inferiority complex. I think it's just a matter of only seeing things from your own perspective/thinking about them from one point of view.

According to national averages you are tall, yes. However, the average in communities vary. Depending on where you live you may not be tall. I live in a very tall community (as I'm sure many of you know) so by me you'd be just on the underside of average for height. The average man by me is 6'3 with some reaching 7'+.

That’s because you are viewing from peoples head levels from your eye level point of view. This creates the illusion that some people appear to be several inches taller than you. 6”5 is rare and 6’1 is uncommon, so yes you are actually taller than you think you are.
I'm 5'8 bare foot, and 5'11 in heels. I would still be shorter than you in heels..
