College freshman going to senior prom?

So the title asks most of it. My girlfriend is a senior in high school and wants me to go to her prom. We went to the same high school so I know some people in her grade (not on text/hang out basis though) I'm wondering if it would be awkward to go? I'd feel bad letting her down like that, but I don't want to be weird. Does anyone have some experience with this?

WTF? lol. It's your girlfriend's prom so you should go if she wants you to. Her happiness > your awkwardness. The only person you need to know is her. Unless you're anti-social and afraid of human interaction. In which case, let her down and hide in your room.

Why is going to a senior prom weird? I'm sure she's not the only one with a college boyfriend. Stop worrying and just go have a good time. I went to high school dances when I was a college freshman, it's no big deal.
