What do guys expect you to say back when they say "Sup girl"? this guy I go to college with will say that to me through texting. I know how to reply, but I am just wondering why guys text that? And what do they usually want to hear from the girl? Is there a deeper meaning to it?

My boyfriend thinks it's a way for them to flirt or test the waters. They say that to see how far they can get with you. I didn't think or know that at all, but he said I'm wrong. Males are not allowed to call me any terms of endearment, including "girl"
