What does it mean when he says he has standards? Along with asking what I look for in a hookup versus a relationship?

I met this guy one night when I went out one weekend. The guy wasn't creepy at all, he was super cool and knew how to make a girl feel comfortable. He was smart because in the environment we were in he asked me my name and then told me his. Along with asked me if I was a native to the state like him and afterwards offered to get me a drink. We were getting drinks and he then asked me what I did for fun. I told him what I went to school which is Healthcare and I found out he was in Dental Health also that he just finished school for his PhD. Anyways I talked to him a bit and we danced. Unfortunately things didn't work in my favor because the person I went out with was being a downer so I had to leave. I gave the guy my number and he immediately texted me afterwards when I left. The part that sucks is I found out also the guy was working on moving soon since he couldn't find a job here where I live and he had a ton of student loans.

Of course when he told me he moved it was whatever since I understood why. Anyways a few days later we hooked up and I asked him if after I left the night we met if he looked for another girl. He told me,"No because I have standards" what does that mean?

After we hooked up the guy also asked me what I look for in a relationship versus someone I hookup with? Why would he have asked that if he was leaving?
