My boyfriend always grabs my wrists?

Is it normal or ok that my boyfriend grabs both of my wrists when I try to leave the room or do something but then he says stop what i am doing and grabs them?
When he grabs my wrists, its really hard. Especially one time I said let go but he didn't. one time grab my face so I could face him (but i didn't want to face him) it was very sore and he wouldn't let me go.
I read that physical abuse are grabing, shaking, kicking etc.. so im wondering does what my boyfriend do is abusive? I don't think so because one time he did grab my wrists soo hard they feel like they were going to break and I told him your hurting me and almost cried and he let go though.
Soo... what are your guys thoughts?

p. s also how can I get used to he's sense of humor? he's humor can be mean sometimes but he like that to everyone else too. Like he says to me your stupid but i still love you.
But he jokes about it, and he does that to his friends too, but i just want to know how i can i not be so emotional about it?

yeah that sounds a bit on the abuser side..
Mean jokes, to pull you down just to immediately pull you up again, can border in emotional abuse.
He might think its funny to play with people this way. It's manipulative and mean.
Also restraining you from leaving is abuse, you do not have to accept it.

If talking about it and setting boundaries does not change anything, you should seriously consider breaking up. This could easily get out of hand someday. Abusers are insidious, they will sneak in more and more abuse, when you eventually notice the extent of the situation you are already in too deep and it gets real hard to leave. (speaking from experience)

Yes, that is aggressive, potentially abusive behaviour. It doesn't sound like talking to him about it is going to do much good, it rarely does in that situation, and may make things worse.
My best advice would be to leave him. I know you probably don't want to, you care about him. But he's not worth it. You have a right to be safe and happy, and he's taking away that right.

Talk to a trusted friend or family member. If you can't do that, you can message me if you'd like to talk.

Wth... He's aggressive. If you tell him that "You're hurting me. Please let go of my hand"
Still he doesn't back off? Still he doesn't let go of your hand then it means he's a jerk. I wouldn't be with that person if I were you.

Physically restraining someone (i. e. grabbing their wrists) can also be physical abuse.

It doesn't sound like your boyfriend treats you very well.
