It depends a lot on the couple. Most of the couples I know have been together for at least one or two years, but then I remember all the couples I know that just got together, or have broken up just when things started getting really serious.
There's also a lot of people at that age start going to college and break up with their boyfriend/girlfriend because they want to explore their sexuality.
There's really no standard amount of time for people of any age to be in relationships. Especially at that age range - it's a rather wide range for people who are so young. Sixteen year olds are at a different place in life and want different things from twenty year olds.

Depends, a lot of people my age have been with their partner for 4 years. But some their longest relationship is a year or less
I guess it just depends on the will of both people. I'm 16 and I've been in a relationship for nearly 17 months
depends on the couple. I was 20 and my ex wife was 17 and a senior in High School when we met. We lasted 25 years.
I knew a couple that I went to high school with. They first started going out in middle school. They broke up a few times along the way but ultimately were married before they graduated. had 1 child and 1 on the way at graduation. they are still together. But that is the exception, not the rule.
Usually people that young won't last past graduation and will break up during college.
Don't worry about the average. No one is average, and no relationship is average. Worry about yours. Maybe it will last a month, maybe it will last through college, maybe it will last forever. But that's up to you guys, not the average.

3 to 5 years. depending on the couple of course. the question is entirely subjective. in India couples get married around 18 f / 21 m. they tend to grow old together. but speaking more contemporarily people have gone distrustful and lustful. so they enter the relationship and the sparks fizz out within a year. but that depends entirely on the couples
There is no "ideal" amount of time. You should be in a relationship when you're in love.. considering that I'd say preferably forever, don't you think?
If you factor in the length of an average 16 year old's relationship (1-3 months) and the average length for a 20 year old's relationship (2-3 years) I'd say the average is 18 months.
Usually people age 16-20 don't last too long in relationships but it depends on the people them self, my Aunt and late Uncle were
together over 40 some years and they were together since they
were teenagers.no more than a year, our generation gets bored easily
Have you never been in a relationship before? There's no answer to this. Maybe just that there's generally no such thing as 'relationships' for people that young, with the rare exception.
If you choose wisely-forever. If I could go back in time I wouldn't date anyone with below a 3.5 who wasn't career oriented.
Depends on the people involved but around a year for most.
When we met we were both 20. We're still together.
With my exes It was only 3-6 months.as long as the relationship works for
if it works you shouldn't change it!somefruend of mines been together for like 5 years now
Probably a couple of weeks at best.
It depends on the couple.
Usually a year.6 months to a year. Sometimes more, sometimes less
In my brother's case 16 years and marriage
Usually about a year and a half.
A few months. Practice practice practice. :)
Most relationships at my school last about a year.
A year or two if they are both that young.
Hopefully forever
