I would do something maybe every six months or a year, whichever one sounds better to you. It's really up to you, but either one of those seem to make the most sense.
Actually, I have a buddy who's girlfriend does something every month...and they've only been together 2 months. Not because if that, but there's something below the surface going on with her. I don't think she likes being seen as the "newbie" in our group of friends because she acts like she's been around for years.

Anniversaries by definition can only be celebrated every year. Can you have an annual celebration every month?
Well for me, I used to send him sweet text messages everymonth on the day we met. On the year we would go all out. It just depends on the person and if both of you want to do something. It doesn't really matter but I think maybe getting a flower and cute text or call would be cute for the months leading to the 1 year anniversary. ;)
In my opinion, yearly. After all, if it doesn't last a year, it's not much to celebrate. Also, I think guys feel a little cramped if they feel pressure to do something "special" every month. If it's a really, really good relationship, every day spent together should be enough of a celebration.
Don't celebrate it monthly, you're not 14. Maybe just do the years, and a little something on the half's.
