I hardly use text talk. Usually it's just to shorten the text if I have more to say. I also try not to send more than the 160 characters for 1 text. If I'm writing more than that I might as well call.
As for how girls text I honestly don't care. While it's nice if the girl knows her grammar and can spell, when it comes to texting people make mistakes. Though sometimes I'll find myself being more proper or more "text talk" depending on how the girl texts. The fact of the matter is, text talk is fairly common and a lot of people will use it.
To answer your last question yes! If the girl is only responding with a couple of words it feels like you aren't that interested in talking at the time. Obviously use your judgement - short answers are appropriate sometimes - but if you always do this I'd think you just weren't interested period.
Absolutely, I'll take the hint that your smart, and know what your talking about, over having to decipher what you mean when you try to squeze a whole sentence into three letters anyday.
