What do I do? How do you approach an "unapproachable" guy? Need advice from guys and girls!

Sorry this is a little long. So I know there are probably hundreds of questions similar to this posted on here each day. But I have a guy and I’m not sure what to think of him. He’s five years older and he’s incredibly gorgeous, talented, and he’s actually a nice guy. We have a couple of the same interests, but I’m shy so I don’t really know how to talk to him. I think I’m kind of to the point where I’ve realized that realistically, there’s not going be anything romantic between us. He’ll talk to me, but not often. He kind of acts like we’re just acquaintances, which I guess is true. But if nothing else I would REALLY like to become friends with the guy and just hang out with him. I just don’t know how to get to that point. I’m not sure what to talk to him about or what to say or anything.

So, what would you all do in this situation?

Would you continue to hope for something romantic? If so how would you go about getting to that point? What are some flirting tips?

Or would you just try to be friends with him? If so how would you talk to him or what would you do to make that happen?

Or would you just give up and resign yourself to conversations only when necessary?

I need advice PLEASE. From guys and girls! Guys, what would you want a girl to do if she felt this way about you? Or what would you do if you wanted an “unapproachable” girl? Girls, what would you do if you were me? Thanks in advance for all answers!

No girl is “unapproachable”. Guys are the same way. You just have to dig deep, find some courage, take some risks and move things in the direction you want them to go. If he talks to you regularly, then at worst he thinks you have an nice personality. Start flirting with him. If you want to hang out, find a social event that you and your fiends are going to and bring it up in group conversation. If he says that sounds cool or shows interest, ask if he wants to come along and hang out. He might say sure, he might say he's busy, but it opens that door. It's not as direct as asking him out on a date one on one and you avoid the direct rejection you seem to fear.

Frankly, some guys don't date girls that are that much younger. how old is he and how old are you?

I'm 16, he's 21... Yeah I know huge age difference. That's why I kind of decided to get over liking him and just try to be friends with him. But what can I say to start an interesting convo with him?

I can't really answer that since I don't know you or him. You should talk about whatever you want. Perhaps talk about nothing and just make sarcastic observations about what is going on around you.
