I need advice...

So we've been dating for about 6 months. He's been working a lot lately so I haven't seen him as much as usual. I didn't see him this whole week. I figured we would spend the 4th of July together and I didn't say anything about it but I was talking to his friend who said they have plans to go out of state to a BBQ. I asked my boyfriend and he said "oh maybe I can see if you can come too." What the HELL? Why am I an afterthought? And then his friend told me there's no room in the car for me to come! I feel so sad I can't stop crying because I feel unwanted and I don't understand why my boyfriend wouldn't want to spend it with me or even think about making plans with me.

Please help. Guys, do you think this is normal? I feel like now I'm questioning our ENTIRE relationship. And I'm telling him I don't want to be in a relationship where I feel unwanted.

That sounds really frustrating! I wouldn't question the entire relationship over that but definitely talk to him about it. Maybe suggest something else you both can do and see if he is up for changing his mind. Its normal to spend holidays together, so he sounds dumb, ugh. Tell him to drive separately with you... that sounds like an excuse to me. Guys friends and their impressions are super important to them, but your feelings should matter too. Maybe trying having a discussion about your expectations for things, as they may not be the same and you guys may be mis-communicating. communication is key. hopefully he talks to u!

It's just the 4th of July, it's not Valentine's Day or your anniversary or anything... It's not a big deal to a lot of people, just an excuse to barbecue :P I mean, it's a bit different because you haven't been seeing him much, but you should just ask him to hang out instead of "figuring" you will!

I don't know the guy, though. I personally just go along with my friends when they make plans and stay in the background so I don't have to do anything, haha.

2. Maybe he was planning to go meet another girl wherever they were going. Whatever he told you is their destination. . . that's not necessarily where they are going.
