Money changed my boyfriend.

Question

So I've been with my boyfriend for 4 years now. All these years I've never had a job and he's only made enough to get by. We rarely ever had money to spend. Whenever I would get money I would always spend it on him (scholarships). I even paid off a 700$ debt he had, took us on a trip to San Fran (paid for everything), bought him a really nice desktop computer (better than mine), and I supported him for a couple of months while he was unemployed.

We've always been very close. We are best friends as well as lovers. We've always put each other before everything. We would do everything together.

Well a couple of months ago he struck gold. He's been making ridiculous amounts of money working on the internet. And ever since then he thinks he's all high and mighty. Whenever we get drunk he starts telling me that he doesn't care if our relationship ends because he has all his money. It really breaks my heart. The next day I always talk to him about it and he says that he is just drunk and that he doesn't mean what he said. The last time he said that I told him that if he ever said that again it would be over because I'm tired of feeling worthless to him. I am way out of his league. I'm taller than him and I turn heads in the streets. I've always had him on a pedestal even when buying a 4 dollar burger was a rare luxury. I never cared about money, I found his value in the way he treated me.

And now last night he did it again. So I left. And now he doesn't answer his phone or anything. I don't know what to do. Should I just forget about him? It really breaks my heart. He just works all day. He's on the computer 24/7. He doesn't even have time to have sex with me anymore. We haven't done anything together in a very long time. All he cares about now is his money. I feel like he took something very precious from me away, he's completely forgotten about me, and he doesn't even notice or care. What do you guys think?

Well... I've read over 10 books on wealth and finance. The biggest issue isn't you or him; it's his ego that has been hiding under his skin. Opportunities come at chances for people who are ready to take it on, but it leaves as soon as the person abuses it. And it seems like your boyfriend is abusing his power, thinking he is something when he really is nothing.

Look at this way. A survey done on jackpot winners resulted in 98% of the winners are broke or in worse state than they were before. The reason is they abuse the money and taking luxury life for granted. The best situation for you is to leave him and find yourself a real man who'll take on the world instead of having you to pay and buy things for him.

Oh yeh... you do have the right to obtain a restraining order and confiscation warrant which you take EVERYTHING that belongs to you.

Most guys believe that money or status makes them men because that's what most women want out of a man. He's found his second manhood and believes he's on top of the world. However, unless he is smart with his money, he'll come spiraling back to earth pretty soon and will come crawling to you on his hands and knees. If he is smart, he'll lead great life, but it won't include you because he thinks he can get a upgraded female with the status he has earned.  Either way, you should leave and let King Midas be alone with his gold for awhile. He'll see reason one way or another. It may take a decade or so, or just a few months, but the question is: Do you want to stick around and find out?

money didn't change your boyfriend, he was already like that. the history of your relationship has you painted as $ugar Mama, the provider and the supporter. how can a man respect you if you're giving him everything, paying for everything, and he does nothing? you were better off without him. why would you buy him scholarships, pay off his debt, get him a new computer and support him? what did he have to offer you besides penis? it sounds like your boyfriend was already worthless scum but now that he has money and doesn't need you to buy him things you're seeing his true colors that were there all along.

I think that he is a scum. That's harsh but it's very true. If he really truly cared about you he would not let money change your relationship. It's a little weird that he's acting like this. It's good that you stood your ground and left when you said you would. That shows your strong. Now try and not contact him. Be strong. If he cares, he WILL call you and try to mend things. If not, then he was not worth it from the beggining.

If you are financially stable enough to cut ties and take care of yourself do so. it's not right but it's okay, your going to be alright. let him live for his money, he will learn the ultimate life lesson on his own.

I learned long ago that when one is mainly giving(Money,respect,etc) then other person is not left with much of a lost.While this has more of the opposite effect on the person mainly giving making the person who invested more finding it harder to let go.This is why there should be a balance or as close as a balance as possible.Not everyone experiences it like this.

Last there is a chance he will come back to you when he loses all his money(If it happens)

Ouch. Small Dick syndrome. Look, I can't tell you exactly what is the cause of this  behavior , but he feels like you were the provider and now he has money he wants to feel like the man, and you really need to play along and do what he asks. But as far as working on your own, it is important to not disturb him at all during that period. Jesus I hate it when women walk in and demand time from you while you're working, especially on time critical stuff. It f***s up your flow for the whole day.

That's what happens when women insist on men being driven and ambitious to make more money than the people at places like Mcdonald's. I think you should give us nice and average looking guys a chance and stop going for guys that get drunk because those guys are jerks. When you go out with a guy you should ask how important money is to them. Get with someone who enjoys the simple things in life.
