I definitely have never had a boyfriend with money, but I know my current boyfriend really wishes he could buy me things and take me places. I tell him all the time that stuff doesn't matter, and he still wishes he could do it. I guess your friend's boyfriend could want something in return, but in my experience it's about wanting to be able to provide for the person they care about.

No I think is how the way the guy is. I see more commons in Asian, Black and Latino guys who give money to their girlfriend.
If a girl dominates me then i can't control myself. I'll end up giving money to her etc
