Why do people put up a facade?

People also assume a person is a certain way. It's like judging a book by its cover. A person might not be putting on a facade it may be that your illusion of who you thought they were is really who they are not.

Like a book with a fancy cover; read a few words on the back cover then purchase it. After reading it for a few weeks you realize you are disappointed because it is not at all like you thought.

A persons assumptions, as well as, the other person putting up a facade will most always lead to disappointment. Be yourself and try to stay comfortable. From experience, as soon as it becomes uncomfortable for one person its all over.

Because they figure if they are themselves, people won't like them. The problem is that people are attracted to who they think the person is and they get a nasty surprise when they find out it isn't who they are.
