This is my take on how to get over a break-up with the help of an amusing culture.
Firstly, we can all acknowledge the influence music has on us. Especially when it sounds really good.
WHAT NOT TO DO: Don't listen to songs about "loving forever". An example of a song not to listen to is the one I heard in an Indian tv-series called Mehek. The song ''Phir Bhi Tumko Chahunga"" is from a movie named "half girlfriend." ..... to begin, the term "Half girlfriend" in itself sounds so toxic. But if you DO listen, don't forget the woman in the song sings lovingly toward the man as he did to her... I would not misapply any song to any of my relationships if they were one-sided.
So..what does ''curry tabanca'' mean? Do you know?
Well, first of all, curry is a spice mix originating in South Asia and many foods can be curried. In Trinidad and Tobago, the Trini word "Tabanca" (pronounced Tabanka in Trini) refers to a painful feeling of unrequited love or longing (originally associated with romantic relationships). So "curry tabanca" means painful longing for a curry.
And where the hell does this word originate from you ask? If you speak an indigenous language, Turkish, African language, Arabic or Indian language or have any idea about how this word might have come about, comment below. Meanwhile, I made a discovery - purely coincidental - while learning Turkish. I found that tabanca means GUN in Turkish (pronounced as tabanja in Turkish). Maybe in the past a Turk in Trinidad tried describing his longing as being shot by a gun.
...........Nevertheless, I think you would want to listen to and view this iconic and comedic antiquity of a video and be inspired by it IF your ex was no good to you..... try refocusing your longing onto something actually worth missing.
Other foods mentioned in song: Palory( Palourie.. Pholourie..lorry, roti, Dhal, Kuchelar

That's a fun one! It's so oddly cheerful-sounding with bleak lyrics at the same time. I have ah tabanca ha, ah curry tabanca! 🎶
https://www.youtube.com/embed/ulIOrQasR18I like this one:
hha yeah. It can def steer one away from break up thoughts... hopefully he doesn't end up effing everything up that he sees. His dog deserves better though :) .. definitely a humous song with a unique end.
I like the part in the video where he's hanging himself against such a cheerful tune.
You know the police are coming for you if you didn't dance to that Trin Curry song right?
that was also a part that made me laugh.. didn't expect it.. he hanged himself over the curry tabanca.. he missed the food more than the woman.
I'm safe! Have you ever been to Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago? I talked to a woman on an overseas business trip from there and she invited me to come and see Carnival but I've never been. Trinis know how to party!
