I texted my ex and I regret it what should I do?

We broke up two years ago but I couldn’t get over him. Last Monday I saw his account on Twitter so I texted him saying hi. I immediately regret it so I closed my account right away ( I don’t tweet I just follow my college account ). Less than an hour he texted me saying hi how are you? I blocked him after saying sorry I feel bad and please block me back ( I don’t trust myself I may text him again ). He texted me from another number saying: ( by the way I'm just sorry that I responded to you I guess I should've never done that but please just don't feel like trash it's not that big deal and I’m sorry I talked to you through this number it’s just I didn’t want you to feel like that. Bottom line if you ever feel like talking you know my number and my personal account I guess. Sorry again. Bye.) I can’t get over him and I still have feelings for him but I always feel like I’m the only one trying. I don't know if he still like me or even cares. What should I do?

One sided love never really ends with a happy ending, i feel like he only wants friendship with you; nothing more. If you feel like your the only one trying then moving on is the best option, you never know, maybe that would be the best decision you'd ever made. We are humans, our feelings change as we start talking to someone new who fit our taste, our feelings linger if we keep in contact because you start remembering the time you spend together.
I say, you need a break and... you know, keep things down low for few months until you're sure you've moved on. I wouldn't suggest dating someone else whilst still having feelings for your ex' if you do that, you will not only hurt your self but him in the process. I find people like that selfish. But hey, thats my opinion, sorry if i've offended.

It seems like he has tried as well by texting from another number. Sometimes the only way to resolve things either or good or bad is to explore it a little further. Why did you break up? Has the issue of the breakup been resolved between you?
