Does my ex wanna see me again or not?

We were long distance and saw each other twice a month. Even though we still loved each other, he broke up because it would be years until he could close the distance. After the breakup I realized I’d rather go back to what we had than nothing at all so after 3 months no contact I reached out cause I wanna try again. I know if he saw me again it could happen so I’m trying to see him.

I’m really confused because he acts interested in me and will flirt with the idea of seeing me but stalls when I try to make it real. Here’s an example:

Him: what are you up to tonight?
Me: I’m taking a bath with some wine.
Him: where’s my invite?
Me: you have to wine n dine me for that kinda invite
Him: prepare to be wined n dined then 😉
Me: Does that mean you’re asking me out?
Him: I don’t know, I’m kinda nervous 😬😉
(Obvious joking)
Me: what whyyyyy lol
Him: You’re intimidating 😏
(Joking again)
Me: I’d say your odds are pretty good even with these fake excuses lol

And he hasn’t replied backwards. It’s weird to me that he plays along with the idea and stalls instead of giving a serious answer.

How do I proceed from here? And how would you interpret the convo? I miss him so much and am so confused

Being honest? It doesn't sound like he wants anything serious with you, because of someone really wants to be with you, they'd find a way to make it happen... Of course if you offer sex, he most likely wouldn't turn that down, but a serious relationship? Don't sound like he's really interested in that with you... How much time do you want to keep investing/wasting on a person or relationship that don't sound like will really amount to anything permanent? Wasted time is something you can never get back... Wouldn't it be better to find someone that lives closer to you that you could be with without the obstacles of a LDR🤷

You're wasting your time. Find someone who can be with you in real life within the next few months at most, if you must insist on a long distance relationship, don't expect it to last long unless you make it in person. You don't have forever to waste, you're not getting younger.
