Do you still follow your ex on social media/are still friends with them?

my boyfriend follows his ex on instagram and sometimes texts her. He said there is nothing there and said that if we were to breakup he wants to be friends with me not become strangers. I don't know if it is normal because this is my first relationship and I really like him but I don't know if i should continue it or not

but yes, we're still either friends or in friendly terms

  but are the feelings still there. What if he still likes her is what i am worried about? Does it hurt you when you see your ex with a new person

  I can't speak for him nor know their situation...
  
  and in my case there's none of that at all, and certainly not after 16 years, lol
