He broke up with me over this, was he right?

My boyfriend and I were only together for 3 months. We never fought. One day he told me he was uncertain of the relationship and left but then apologized the same day and I forgave him.
I have a guy friend that is practically my brother (yes I mean that). He and I were both in relationships. I invited my boyfriend to his bday party, I said if he didn’t want to come it was no big deal. That triggered him. He thought I didn’t really want him to come and he thought that was suspicious. He said girls who have guy friends is a red flag. We ended up arguing but I still asked him to come and he did. When we got there he was being weird with me so I didn’t pay it no mind, until I seen he was looking at a girl. I usually don’t ever pay it no mind but this time I told him about it to teach him a lesson on how it felt to be accused. I thought he took it playfully because I thought it was harmless. He laughed at first. Later he told me how mad he was at me for doing that and I apologized and promised it wouldn’t happen again but it was too late. He was furious. I told him well, I did it because I felt you did that to me so I thought it was a harmless way to get you to understand how that feels. While he’s mad at me he’s accusing me of something else about a guy at the party. He misinterpreted something I said to him and made it negative. He was mad at me for accusing but then is accusing me in the same argument. I told him I just wanted him to take accountability. He said he was too old for this and He left me that night. We never spoke again.
