I recently asked my boyfriend of 10 years where he saw our relationship going being that we have been together for over 10 years yet technically we are only G/F and B/F we don’t live together even though he refers to me as his mrs when introducing me to people and I financially help him. I asked him if he would get his will done being I pay for mostly for everything, and we are expecting a child in 6 weeks time. ( Yes it was unplanned but personal beliefs we are happy with the fact we will be having a son in 6 weeks time).
When I asked this question about how he sees the future and if he would do his will for me his reply was I don’t know if I am still legally married. I mean WTF how can he not know if he is still legally married. He says his not sure as he doesn’t have any paperwork for the divorce and can’t remember if she had filed for divorce. He definitely is legally separated and has a legal financial agreement between them dividing up the assets but no mention of the actual divorce.
is it even possible to be still be married to someone and not know? When we met he told me he was in the process of divorce and I just assumed it had happened being that was over 10 years ago.
why would he say he was in the process of being divorced if he wasn’t?
why won’t he find out if he is actually divorced? ( he says it cost money to find out so if I want to know I have to pay to find out)
Is it possible he never planned to get divorced and just had me for the last 10 years help him financially when he never planned to fully commit to me even though we are having a child together.
When I ask him these questions he says everything I would want to hear but he never follows through with any of the things I ask him to do to find out if it’s possible he is still married.
should I leave him if his still married as I refuse to be the other woman which if they are still legally married I technically would be wouldn’t I?
