How is this fair?

So I have been in a long distance relationship for 4 years as we have had visa issues and then Covid hit and then we made a visa application but his documents were sent back as he didn't have the right documents.. 2 years in everything was great. We spoke everyday and were on good terms then we had an argument as he was speaking to another girl and we kind of stopped talking as much as we were. That was over a year ago now. we were still together but the communication just decreased. For the past 8 months he has barely been speaking to me. He texts maybe every 2 days and will never call me or answer my calls. He never asks me to visit him and the last time I saw him was a year and 9 months ago. He says that we will do the visa application in January as he says that he still loves me and wants to be with me in my country but he doesn't show any love or affection or interest in me. I know we are not together and I have told him a few times this year that we are not in a relationship at all as our relationship has no components of a relationship and he never disagreed with me on that. So for this I told him that I was with someone over the summer. I had a brief fling in the summer and I told him about it as he kept blocking me this week when I tried to call him to just chat to him and he went crazy and told me that he didn't want to be with me anymore and that we should go our separate ways. How does this make sense?
