I broke up with my ex boyfriend 8 months ago. I went no contact after that. 3 days ago he texted me at 6pm saying that he was dying soon and wanted to hear from me before he goes. I didn’t call. At 7:30pm I get a text from another number saying that it was his father and that Larry passed away. The insurance adjuster is trying to locate me because Larry left me a lump sum of money. I still didn’t call.
Everyone told me that it’s a lie and that Larry is playing games. So today I called the number thinking it was his father. Guess who picked up the damn phone? LARRY 🤬. He’s like heather is that you? I’m like you told me you died. You’re dead, you’re dead. He’s like aren’t you happy I’m not. I’m told him to stay dead and hung up the phone. I deleted and blocked the phone number. Why would someone go to the extreme just to hear from me? Need advice

its always the right decision to prioritize ur own well-being n mental health thus protecting urself from toxicity, dont change on that n keep it up
also seek support cuz u will be needing it while healing from all of that
if he didn't back off n tried to contact u then I recommend considering legal options especially if he takes it far by coming to see u
finally focus on self care n dont think about him, its waste of time

I remember when I was in college, right after winter break when people were just getting back one of the guys in my dorm put up a sign on his door that said "Mike died in a motorcycle accident over break". One of the other guys, a rather sensitive type, saw it and started sobbing in the hall.
