Why can't anyone stay faithful anymore?

I'm not talking about just guys or girls but in general.

It seems there are more and more friends or questions about their SO cheating on them. What is the thrill of cheating?

I know many people who have been cheated on and it keeps growing.

Why do you think people cannot stay faithful to their partner?

What does this mean for marriage? Does marriage mean nothing to anyone anymore?

Or even saying "Yes, s/he is my bf/gf"

I recently read a blog where a female was getting hit on by a guy, who still had his wedding ring on. WTF?

People may not like this answer, but here it goes...

Haven't you read that He which made them at the beginning made them man and woman, and for the cause of marriage, they should leave their parents and be cemented to each other, for the two are now one flesh? Therefore, they aren't two, but one. What He has joined together, don't let anyone rip it apart. In the past, because of hardheartedness, it was allowed to divorce for any reason, but this wasn't what He wanted. However, I say this to you, “Whoever divorces, unless it is over sexually cheating on your spouse, and marries another, commits adultery. And whoever marries one who is divorced commits adultery. The only one who can re-marry is the one who was sexually cheated on, the innocent one.

That's the rule as it is transposed into modern day English. Marriage is suppose to be “until death do you part.” It's even there in the vows. If you can't stay faithful, you have no business getting married. If you get with someone who cheated on their SO, you better be prepared for them to cheat on you. And if you cheated with them, they better be prepared for you to cheat on them. If you aren't faithful in the little things, like dating, then why on earth should anyone expect you to keep your word when it really matters, like in marriage?

One other thing about dating. People take it too lightly these days. It doesn't mean you can't have fun together, going to movies and such. However, I think dating should have a return to the roots of courtship. It should be you giving someone a chance to see if you want to marry them. It is the testing period. Wouldn't that be better than you deciding that it isn't going to work out after you get married?

My wife and I watched a show on Netflix called Divorce Corp. Anyone dating, engaged, married, or wanting to get married but looking needs to watch it. Honestly, family court is horrendous at violating people's rights and divorce lawyers are super sleazy. If people would just remain faithful, we could put them out of business.

Uhhh... people were unfaithful in the past too. Have you never read books or watched movies or read about the lives of people and characters living decades or centuries ago?

Cheating is a simple problem to me. It is possible for your heart to be exclusive to only one person, for your entire life. Not to say you won't feel things here and there for other people, but there's one person you should definitely love the most. But pleasure isn't something that's naturally exclusive to one person. Hot sex and intense pleasure is possible with so many people, literally every day you're seeing people you could have a lot of pleasure with. But then how many people can you truly love at one time?

So don't jump on your high horse when people talk about cheating. We're only human and we have animal instincts that we're trying very hard to repress. Everyone I know masturbates, and everyone I know masturbates to their imagination, which means they have sexual desire for someone more than one single person for 60 years. Love however, you can have all you need of love with only one person.

And you might think it is despicable to not be able to stay faithful sexually to one person for 60 years, but other people have different views on life and sometimes they want to satisfy their inner desires and instincts. I don't know how that can be blamed, we only have one life, we don't know what's the purpose of it or if there's a purpose at all, and we might fade to nothingness any time.

I believe in loving one person, but I do not believe that monogamy is natural, so cut some of those people some slack, I'm sure many of them are doing their best at going through life.

If someone is going to cheat why not just break up with that person?

There are a lot of different reasons. If it's just a relationship, because you love that person, plain and simple. It's possible to make a mistake one night, regret it the next day and not wanting to break up because you were thinking with your d*** but you genuinely love your girlfriend (or vice versa, women cheat on their boyfriends too).

If you're married and have kids, I think the reasons should be a lot more obvious.

It's tricky, I'm not saying it's OK, but life is complex.

maybe more people are settling which means they are not satisfied or they believe they can do better and hence need to get that satisfaction from someone else who they believe is their equal. I personally hate cheating its wrong and disrespectful and its not nice to play with someones emotions.. emotions are already crazy they don't need anymore craziness added to it
