Dental hygiene is very important to me. I have decent teeth, so I feel like I deserve someone who takes care of their own teeth.
I don't want to break up with him over this. I just don't know what to do about this.
I have to commend you for wanting to still stay with him, loving him unconditionally, but you are right, it is not fair to you because you are taking care of your teeth. Naturally, no nice girl wants to kiss an "igor". There is certainly no excuse for bad dental hygiene, especially because he has state of the art pricey braces to straighten out his teeth, why let them decay in the process? It makes no sense to me. The way I look at it, if he can afford braces(or his parents can)then he can afford a "day at the dentist." I am very surprised at him. You need to sit him down and address him about your feelings. You obviously love him enough to come online here and "say a mouthful"...Now it is time to go to him and "spit it all out." Good luck, sweetie.
Ugh. If he's an adult that doesn't clean his teeth that's pretty gross. Definite deal breaker for me!
Bad teeth are a huge turn off. I couldn't go out with some with bad teeth
If I were in your situation and a girl who I was dating had this problem, then I'd stick around as long as she made an effort to better them. Now, if she wasn't, as you say he isn't, then I might give it a little time to see if she would make an effort, but, if she didn't, as he isn't, then yeah, I'd eventually break up. So, if you're feeling guilty about it, you shouldn't be just about anyone would end it.
thats disgusting that you need to tell him to brush his teeth, sounds like you deserve a lot better

I wouldn't, I never notice teeth. Honestly, if it's as bad as you make it sound then I wouldn't blame you. I've never seen teeth as bad as you describe, damn!
