Not true at all my friend. Good photos of the dude on the left by a professional photographer will get him dates. I am 5'6 48 years old 30 pounds over weight and I can get 1 or 2 dates a week. This in all due respect is just red pill nonsense. It's much easier for men who have given up to follow red pill theories then work on themselves to achieve what they want. I see it everyday.

@Wraithofsparta Maybe. I haven't talked to many girls about dating online. I mostly came across guys who either wanted to date me short term, hookup, or liked me but didn't put forth any effort. Now there were guys who were legitimate but I had no attraction to them. Then the ones who were a better match either lived in another state or country (I'm not into long distance). 🤣

I'm taking a break but maybe I'll try online dating again but on a different platform.

I don't see an issue with short term dating if that is what both parties are looking for. But you're right that most guys on their are looking for short term or hookups. The dating websites algorithms also play into this. OkCupids algorithm purposely pairs you up with people who are the opposite of what you wanted. It's part of their "Love is love" motto. If I'm looking for long term why are you trying to match me with a guy interested in only hookups?

I don't have any commitment/trust issues, nor have I ever had them. Even when I was looking to date, I still ended up hooking up a lot (relatively speaking, of course). I think a lot of guys who say to you they just want to hook up, actually aren't and just don't want to hurt you? I have said this many times to girls who I don't find attractive enough as a longterm partner. Don't you find it a little convenient that the "unattractive" ones wanna date you, and the ones you like are "only DTF"?

Although I don't know specifically OKC's software layout lol, I am 99% sure every dating app will pair people that are close to desirability for efficiency purposes. Matching people by similar interests/characteristics is very very inefficient if you think about it!

@Wraithofsparta this is the issue with younger men living in the US. they really aren't considerate of others feelings and turn into serial daters... dating and hooking up with whoever is above a certain baseline attractiveness level and not caring who gets hurt in the process. honestly, if this is the type of man you want to be go ahead. I think you’re making some unjustified generalizations. Most younger men in the US are virgins, first of all... furthermore when it comes to dating I think most men/women just stick to one person, so I don’t see how most guys can be serial daters.

Playing games? Not at all, it’s called being considerate and not trying to hurt others. What would you rather listen to, “I’m not looking for something serious” or “I don’t see you as a long term partner”. Personally I would prefer the former. Also there is a difference between “sticking your dick in everything” and having higher standards for serious relationships vs casual relationships. You shouldn’t become cynical if you can’t meet the former. I think most men (most but obviously not all), would prefer just one single girl provided she is the right one.

Short term (other than its literally meaning) is basically your typical friends with benefits, no strings attached relationship. But you are actively seeking someone that you want to have a real (exclusive) relationship with (hence why its expected not to last long). This is usually what I prefer doing as it's pretty exhausting trying to hook up with everything "with a vagina and a smartphone",

I appreciated his honesty so we both wouldn't waste our time in further talks, but it made me wonder why he didn't want to persue a long term. He had in his profile he was looking for long and short term. I guess my intuition was correct.

But yeah hopefully we do. It's hard out here. 🤣
