How would you react if your crush handed you a rose?
Hey girls, do you like getting flowers?
How would you react if your crush handed you a rose?
My wife LOVED flowers, especially arranging them. She would often have me pull over into the flower shop just so she could buy flowers. She bought them at least once a week.
I gave her flowers as gifts at random times, but never as some form of an apology. I always gave her a single rose. I don't know why, but we both thought the single rose was a greater gesture than a bouquet. I think that women particularly dislike receiving flowers when it's some kind of apology with no intention of changing behavior behind it. For those women who like flowers, I think it's better to receive them as a romantic gift for no other reason than to say, "You're special to me. I hope you like these beautiful flowers."
I think receiving flowers from a guy who likes the girl but she doesn't return his feelings is often uncomfortable.
That's the most greatest acts of kindness any guy can do for a girl/ woman
i find it very romantic, loving etc.
I my crush handed me a rose, I would be elated! My dad still buys my mom flowers after all these years. My brother also brings my mom and me flowers just to be sweet. I think when the men in your life brings you flowers it's really a lovely gesture. It brightens the day. And they can be wild flowers. My ex would go for a walk and bring my back wild sunflowers with lavender sprigs he found while walking. It was super sweet for him to do something so simple just to let me know he was thinking of me when we're apart.
I'd be flattered, but not more than for any other gift. However, I'd wince for the flowers too, because they'd wilt. And feel some concern for his wallet, if it were a bouquet. Flowers can be damn expensive.
More importantly, I'd wonder if he likes flowers. I'm happier giving them than receiving them. Although I'm an amateur at flower-arranging, I'd like to construct a bouquet for a lover someday. An elaborate, heartfelt love letter in the language of flowers.
I always thought it was corny for guys to give flowers, and didn't think I would be super happy like other women act when they get them, till I actually got some from a guy a really liked. He definitely changed my mind and now I love getting flowers.
Awesome (:
:o i would love that... i have a soft spot for plumerias though :3

Im a girly girl as some say but im also into video games, i love shootemups i love violent games, action movies, i hate chick flicks I just hate makeup and while flowers can be nice outside I dont need my own pair. I would actually like if a guy brought me a $10-20 used action game from gamestop tbh lol. But Im still straight im not gay i just think flowers are too.. I don't know i just dont like them lol. they should be left alone outside not inside.
i actually don't really like flowers that much but what i like is the gesture, and for that reason i would appreciate a man who does give me then. i mean don't get me wrong, some flowers are beautiful, but i like the fact that he took the time to get them and think about me to do so more than the actual flowers.
Yes but a guy can't bring me some that have too much pollen, my allergies will ruin the whole experience :L lol
I've never thought of that possibility lol.
I love that, actually! I just hope they won't trigger my allergies, that could be really embarrassing 😳
I wish I got them a lot more often and for no reason at all, honestly. Oh well :(
Awww haha. You sound like a girl I dated. She always loved getting flowers, but I probably should have gave them more often than what I did.
You can't really go wrong with giving flowers. They're a nice simple gesture. I wish my fiance gave them to me more often, but he's a great guy anyways so it's a minor complaint, haha. ππ
allergies suck :(
@COCOCHANEL: Yeah they do! They can really dampen an otherwise sweet romantic moment :(
I'm not all for flowers but to be handed a single rose on Valentine's day would be so sweet!!! Plus I'd rather have a rose than a box of chocolates. Yet, I'd rather have a teddy bear than a rose lol

Personally, the idea of getting flowers to me has always been pointless. Like, you're just plucking some living plants so they can die slowly in a vase for a few days.
However, I actually think that if my boyfriend decided to randomly present me with flowers as a romantic gesture I'd be surprised and actually rather happy about it. It's thoughtful, and I'd just like that. It's less about the flowers, really.
I voted other. I mean, it's a sweet gesture and all, definitely something that isn't as common as it use to be, but I'd prefer something with more meaning. Anyone can buy a girl flowers, just like how anyone can buy a girl a ring. It's overdone. If I wanted something from my crush, it'd be a card or a note, or since it's me, id want something I could use.
I think it's really nice & romantic, & it would show me the guy is a little old fashioned, which is good in my opinion. I actually have desires to give men flowers, I'll probably give my future S. O. flower arrangement that I've made out of fresh fruit. I might drizzle some chocolate on the strawberries in the arrangement.
I like it but I'm a practical person; I like things to last if you pay for something so I feel it's pointless getting them but then again, if they bought me things that could last forever, my room would be a junk yard. But yeah, it's nice because I know they've thought about me. :)
Of course I like! AHHHH
Especially daisy. I like how they are innocent and so pretty :)

I don't see a point in something that will take a room on my counter for a max of 2 weeks before turning into something ugly that drops bits and makes a mess. Waste of money in my opinion. You could spend the same amount of money and buy the ingredients to make a home cooked meal, or some scented candles and flavored oils for a nice massage. I may feel inclined to return the gesture after something like that ;)
Hate it. Hate how people feel the need to possess beauty and hand it off as a token of their interest/appreciation. Especially considering how they're giving me something beautiful and alive for me to slowly watch it die and turn to dust. Seems more depressing and like a horrible metaphor for the inevitable end of "us" than anything else.
i LOVEEEEEEE getting flowers.
never gotten them from anyone tho hehe. its ok, maybe one day :)
roses r bloody fantastic. i think id b a little overwhelmed.
I don't care for receiving flowers mostly because I'm terrified that bugs could be on/in it.
I'd rather the flowers be out with their little flower family safe and happy,
Especially since I suck at taking care of them..
I'd feel really sad if they died
I would love it if someone I liked gave me a flower or flowers, of course I would.
I've never gotten flowers from anyone before... I think it'd be nice.
@ gillf3 not really. If it's a random guy then his feelings can't be that deep. I'd give flowers to random girls. Wouldn't mean anything. The closest I've ever went was give out flowers to classmates, not sure how close that is to 'random'.
@gillf3
I agree with @Grosayfious255. Flowers from a random person, I would think of it as a sweet gesture, but it wouldn't *mean* much because I don't know them and they don't know me. So I'd be happy and grateful, but not take it to mean as much as if someone I knew and cared for gave them to me.
okay well no one, i mean there's only like 0.1% chance that a "random guy" would ever do that. guys dont waste their time on girls who they know aren't gonna give a shit about their sweet gestures like giving her flowers - If the girl freaks out n runs away, it would just be so awkward and embarassing. A guy would give flowers to a girl who he knows and have feelings for. So if you see some random guy doing that, he probably picked it off the street, didn't want to just dump it , so he gives it to someone. and @Grosayfious255 , you're right about whatever you said. But i didn't mean literally a random guy, the guy has to know the girl somehow and it also depends on how he does it. If its just plain, "here, i got flowers for you".. - dont take it seriously. He's just being nice. But watch out for what he says after giving the flowers. That should tell you exactly whats going through his mind.
@Bluemax You!! You are way too kind to me, Blue! Thank you :-) :-)
Flowers show that you care, I guess. They're a nice thing to get. Just the thought of getting a present is nice. The flowers don't matter too much, it's more the thought. At least for me it is.
If you bring some roses with a jar of honey, I'd accept them.
Why the honey? lol
If you read some of my opinions given in other questions you'll find that my favourite ice cream flavour is: roses with honey; that is why I ask for the jar, to eat the gift.
I had no idea you could even do that. I'll have to try it out.
A great person once said -Food feeds your body but flowers feed your soul
Yes I love getting them
@blondfrog- Prophet Muhammad SalALLAHU Alayhi Wasalam
I love getting flowers. I'll just stare at them and be like "OMG, they're for me and they're so pretty!" Lol. I've only received flowers once so far and that was my reaction. :)
I love all gestures of caring especially in the form of a flower. Flowers are beautiful and give off this lovely scented aroma and think it speaks to the beauty of the giver and the receiver.
well there are millions of flowers and they all mean different things and if you take time to choose one that means something. and put them together to actually mean something it could be really sweet
Flowers are cute because they're thoughtful, they smell great, and they're pretty to look at. But they're a waste of money. Unless they're potted and I can keep them alive, I probably won't want them all that much.
I don't think they're a waste of money. Even if they eventually die, It's worth seeing that special girl's face light up when you surprise her with them.
@SuperNurse42
I completely agree with you. I understand flowers may not be for everyone and that is okay. But, it is definitely not a waste of money. Romantic gestures are always good and flowers is a great way to start off with until you find out what they actually like.
Yes I do love getting flowers and drying them out. I would rather just have the whole plant that way I can enjoy the flowers more than once. =)
Bring me a jar of nutella and all seasons of breaking bad on disk. And I'll immediately fall in love with you haha no flowers needed
I would act really excited one day at school my BFF gave me a flowers from a boy and I found out that it was a fellow popular kid in my school so I found him and he was hot but I told him I was in a relationship with a boy
It's a nice gesture under certain circumstances, but I personally don't need it.
I do. Not something to be overdone though, but once in awhile is nice.
it depends, where you give them to me and the occasion.. once this guy i hardly even talk to bought me a huge bouquet of roses at work and i appreciated it but he didn't even ask me out with them and everyone was staring at me and asking me questions it was sooooo awkward especially since i didn't even know him well.. but i actually think huge stuffed bears are cuter... if your going to be cliché
Weirdly enough flowers always makes me think he is up to something, has done something wrong or is going to do something I wouldn't like. When I get flowers I just think wtf did he do? So flowers equal guilty conscience to me
I love getting flowers, though I hate the massive bouquets of flowers, seems too over done. A single rose would be sweet and cute. Though if your not already dating the girl then you should maybe get a pink rose or get a different kind of flower. (:
Yeah large boquets scare me...
I don't really like giving flowers, they're temporary and serve no actual purpose of utility.
i get what you mean but think about it like this, you can take lots of pictures, you can opt for preserved flowers which are real but stay looking fresh for years and you can just enjoy the moment
@COCOCHANEL eh, I'd still rather buy something actually useful, or at least something that doesn't die over time.
Flowers are great. But if get them as a birthday or Christmas present it tells me "I didn't know what to get you, so I settled for this rather than think about something you really want/need."
but flowers for no reason are the best.
I do, noone has ever given me flowers... not even my ex so yes would love some
It's not about the flowers, it's more about the guy taking time and money plus making it special (fav color flowers) that we love. Who dosent love a pretty decoration piece.. it makes us smile
I'd love to receive one of course! But haven't gotten any :(
I've never gotten flowers. It might be nice on a few occasions but overall I don't really care, they're kind of a waste of money.
Never? That's surprising. I hope someone give you flowers, you might change your mind!
I'd love that ! especially red ones ! I know it's kinda corny but I do !
Any flower would make me happy to be honest. It's just a sweet gesture
I would be touched if someone (especially if he is someone I'm crushing on/dating/in a relationship with) gave me flowers... I have yet to experience this.
sure it means someone was thinking of you! One time I even gave my boyfriend a rose after he performed, he was really touched and he pressed it in a book to keep it forever.
i would love getting flowers, but only from someone who is already my boyfriend. it would be weird if it's like one of my friends who has a crush on me.
I haven't gotten any, but I would definitely swoon if I did since flowers are such a traditional , wonderful way of showing you thought of me today and is not regularly done nowadays :) So I chose A!
Yes, I like getting roses because that'll show that he thought about it and think I'm special and that he cares about me :)
Personally I find flowers stupid because you pluck them and then they just die. I don't even want them at my wedding I think they are such a waste of money.
However if my fiance got me a bouquet of chocolate and candy, I'd fuck him so good.
i get what you mean but think about it like this, you can take lots of pictures, you can opt for preserved flowers which are real but stay looking fresh for years and you can just enjoy the moment
I'd love flowers from someone I'm dating or involved with to some extent but I would think it's weird if any guy (even my crush) just casually handed me a rose.
No, simply because I have severe allergies. How would I react? I'd be flattered but, I'd probably start sneezing , unless they're sunflowers, which are low in pollen haha.
Yes i do lyk getting flowers frm my boyfriend... specially a red rose... even when he proposed me he got three red roses for me... nd since then i have a collection of roses... i luv them...:) :D
I would be abit shock but in a good way and would really appreciate the gesture even more so it from my crush. But abit embarrass if done in public lol
I've been given flowers a few times, not expensive ones, and I just think it's a lovely thought. Although I'm not a particularly romantic or mushy person I enjoy any surprise gift from my loved one :)
I'm indifferent, I don't love getting flowers but I don't hate it. It would be really nice if it was a potted plant that way I don't have to see it die in two weeks.
I am a guy and I would love if my crush gave me flowers I would love if my crush gave me anything positive as long as she doesn't give me something negative lol like a dirty mean look or something.
I'm not like picky on what a guy gets me. he can get me flowers if he wants too. it doesn't matter to me if I get some or not
Do you really have to ask this? Like are guys really that clueless when it comes to what girls like?
Not at all, but as you can see, some girls have different opinions of them.
i like getting flowers, but they're not a necessity. it's nice, but its kind of a weird surprise.. idk. haha. of course i like them because theyre pretty and smell good and everything, but they die quickly sometimes :(
I like flowers but not all the time. I want it to feel special when I get them. Once or twice a year would be perfect.
I like to, but maybe once a year, not too often. Also I hate roses so it's nice when he gets me my favorite flower, because then it's personal
I would prefer roses over regular flowers but I would be happy with either.
If it was a potted orchard, I'd love it. Any other flower, no thanks. (They all smell strongly of piss to me.)
yeah would really liked to... but never received any:(
Same :(
know how it feels ,,...
i wouldn't care if its corny or sappy i think its really sweet
