My boyfriend is always taking his phone everywhere. Is this normal?

My girlfriend was telling me that her boyfriend she has been living with takes his phone everywhere with him. She's very upset because he will spend a lot of time in the bathroom smoking and supposedly being obsessed with a game? She's thinking he might be talking to someone else and using the game as an excuse or trying to escape from her? She said their relationship "sucks" and she doesn't know if it's all in her head because she is mad at him about things or if she should really be concerned.

It really depends on the person. My boyfriend and I are both "phones next to us at all times" kinds of people. We play games, read articles, listen to music, text other people, and even text each other from different rooms sometimes. It's just who we are. Even as I sit here on the computer I have it next to me and will use to surf reddit or text my boyfriend who is downstairs.

That being said, if he's turning the screen away from her view, not answering innocuous questions like "hey who're texting" or "whatcha looking at", or just acting fishy about his phone when she's near, then yes it is cause for concern.

There's obviously underlying issues she has about the relationship. So even if there were no issue regarding his phone she'd still find something else to doubt him for

I used to be addicted to a fashion game on my mobile , and I'd literally take my phone to every room with me lol I wasn't up to anything at all. I just loved the game so much lol

You either trust someone or you don't. If she feels she can't trust him, and she's unhappy in the relationship then it would be best for her to end it, coz eventually the relationship will turn toxic

I think so I mean my boyfriend takes his to the bathroom if he's going # 2. For just entertainment purposes LOL. However... like if he's going to wash the dishes then yes its kinda weird seeing as he wouldn't be on his phone while his hands are occupied.

Well I do play phone games and I have some commitments with the game (clans, teams) and such but I don't find the need to hide in the bathroom. I usually just play it where I am. Then again, he could be bringing it to the bathroom because he doesn't want her to stare in boredom and be disappointed and judgy.

Most people take their phone everywhere with them? Unless he's constantly on it when you're having a conversation/ on a date etc i don't see it as a problem

It depends - does he answer the phone as if somebody called him or is he just playing a computer game?
