Why is tinder so shallow?

To me tinder seems like a site/app that is only suited for "attractive" people. I highly doubt for example some short nerdy guy would get responses from women on that app and I believe that only six foot tall white or black men with six pack abs get laid through that app.

I don't fit any of the ridiculous standards required to get laid so I refuse to use that app or any dating site plus my race (Indian) automatically disqualifies me since my race is considered ugly and not on any woman's list of desirable races.

There's actually a really interesting article I read about shallowness and attractiveness on Tinder. There were a few girls who joined the app with two accounts- one with heavy make up and one without. The results were that the account with the heavy make up got way more matches. However, the matches they received on the account with little to no make up, although fewer, were of higher quality. The people would be more likely to start actual conversations based on their profiles. In contrast, matches on the accounts with more make up would be more likely to say things like, "hey" or something sexual. This applies to both men and women (in looks, not make up), that the "attractive" (a relative term) people may get more matches on Tinder, they are typically just into hooking up and less likely to want a relationship.

I've thought about it. I don't think it's technically anymore judgmental than how people judge each other in real life, when you initially give someone the one-over (in terms of their physical appearance). Generally, if you like what you see, you want to know more about them.
For me, I don't care if he's tall or short (I'm short) or has a six-pack. I like a nice face and a decent bod. Just someone who looks like they give a shit about themselves (in general).

That's why I don't use that app. I'd prefer to meet someone in person and be attracted to them for who they are rather than physical attributes like looks.

It's shallow because the people who go on there are either looking for an ego boost or sex. And this is where people look for attractiveness in someone.

Women are less visual than man, UNLESS they get to choose between thousands of men based on nothing more than a picture, then they get much more visual than men, add to this that guys are more desperate and outnumber women on tinder and in online dating in general.

The Indian part has nothing to do with tinder though, that's a negative reputation imported from offline dating (you're getting screwed over by all the Indian men who harassed white women before you came along).

its a shallow place. men get it worse as always. because women are only interest in the alpha men the best ones. so you gotta look alpha if you want the best results otherwise don't bother. have expensive stuff around you, attractive girls in a group photo or look the best you possibly can. can be average on tindre.

Not all girls but some girls are shallow on tinder there was a girl who was talking to a guy and when she asked his heigth (he was 5"7) she blocked him immediately and in her profile it was written that " if you are under 6 feet swipe left" infeel bad for the guy but i have seen some girls who don't bother about height and were less shalow on soemthings but many girls are shallow on tinder so sometimes its difficult to find a perfect and loyal match
