Not true at all. You're not that short. Any girl under 5'4 would give you a chance if they are attracted to that. I'm 5'3, so that's not that bad for girls my height. The problem is your asking random girls out to date you. Instead of trying to start off as friends. This is both girls and guys biggest mistake and want to know why they are single.

Because wether girls admit it or not most of us like the guy to be dominate in the relationship so when he’s taller than us, it makes us feel kind of protected. Or something like that lol
I want tall guys because I'm short and the odds of us have an average height son is higher because I don't want to have a son that has to struggle with your problem
