Why is he so awkward all of a sudden? Help?

This guy rejected me a while ago and we were totally cool after. He wasn’t that awkward after the rejection, but now he suddenly became uncomfortable. I don’t know what happened.. I thought over time he would be less awkward. Sometimes he stares a bit, his friends know about me and he is always just hanging out near me. But when we are up close, he sometimes avoids eye contact or gets shy.
Recently, he has been doing this thing where whenever I’m in his dorm building to visit a friend, he leaves his bedroom door wide open but when I’m not there my friend said it’s usually closed. Am I overanalyzing it or does that have to do with me? Please help, this guy is confusing.

There could be a number of reasons but if you like him and want him to stop being awkward. Try treating him like a man... (just like you would a little boy that says I'm strong... You say oh wow you are super strong) aka... Stroke his ego a little.. Even if it's a lie make him feel like the king of the jungle

Yeah... Didn't read into the rest of the story. Probably is a nice guy that's not in to you. Awkward because he doesn't want to hurt your feelings. But hey who knows?

Maybe he actually likes you but fears his friends or familys opinion about you. Honestly.. Not sure without knowing more. At this point why not just confront him about it. Tell him how your feeling. See what he says. It's more important that you find some sort of peace with the situation.

Based off of just that I'd say you were overanalyzing. If he rejected you then why should you care if he leaves his door open? There's got to be more to the story.

When we first met, his friend told me he was “really into me” because he talked about me and we talked a lot as well. He used lines like “im not like every guy” and told me I’m pretty. After I told him I liked him and rejected me, he started staring and his friends started paying a lot of attention to me. A few months later, he gave me a booth call when he was drunk and then told his friend that he would “tap me.” Then his friends made comments that they think I’m attractive so that was weird.. Even though all that happened, it still wasn’t that awkward between us. Fast forward to now, it’s so awkward. He would hang around me and sometimes stare but when I’m closer to him he would avoid eye contact and be awkward. So.. idk🤷🏻‍♀️

I think the fact that other guys wanted you made you more attractive to him. He might have halfway changed his mind, but he already knows he rejected you and doesn't want to have to explain why he changed his mind. I wouldn't spend any time worrying about it. You're obviously not his first choice, and being someone's last option is not a good way to start a relationship.

Wow.. I never thought of it like that. I found out he wasn’t lying when he told me we wanted different things. I think he was or still is interested in just sex

I don't know the guy. I wouldn't be that harsh on him without knowing the whole story. What I explained to you is just how the human mind works. It doesn't automatically make him a bad person. He does deserve a little credit for turning you down instead of just using you for sex and then discarding you, as that was certainly one of his options at the time.

I don’t have anything against him for just wanting sex! It’s his choice and you’re right, I appreciate that he rejected me instead of using me. He is not a bad person at all! I just don’t understand his behavior and why the awkwardness is so sudden

That is a bit of a weird thing to say about someone you rejected. Some guys will just say things around other guys so they don't feel like they're not part of the group.
