He never responded to my text and now turned out he was really into me. Wth?

I had a crush on this guy I had never spoken to until one day I finally walked up to him and told I found him hot. He introduced himself and said I can give him my number and I did. then he called me so I have his. I texted him multiple times like "Hi it's xxx. (he didn't know my name)", "what's up", "Hi (with a cute pic of an animal)". No response. I honestly thought I just didn't have any chance with him and better move on. Then a few months later he texted me and turned out he was suspicious of this whole thing (said strangers especially girls don't approach a guy like that) and wanted to know I'm really into him.

I'm a bit confused.
Would you guys ignore texts from a girl if you're even slightly into her?

I would not, but someone can be totally freaked out. Like if you have a crush on someone, and suppose they are really good looking, one would definitely be suspicious if they come in to you and contact you. People with relatively low self-esteem tend to have this issue. It's not really am issue though, it's called keeping your gaurds up.
It's fine you are thinking to much. Go ahead and talk to him, understand we he didn't. See what can be done about this. Because clearly trust is not established yet.

I wouldn't but he may have had bad experiences like I would definitely be cautious a bit. Its probably my bias though due to my past.
