Boyfriend hasn’t messaged me happy birthday, is this normal?

Me and my boyfriend have been dating for nearly two years. It’s my birthday today, we spoke last night until 12am. He didn’t even say happy birthday. He did the same thing last year, bug ended up messaging me in the morning his excuse was it’s better so I wake up to the message. However today I haven’t received no message, it is nearly 10am. But still we’re in a pandemic he works from home his shift starts at 6am. All he had to do was send a simple happy birthday message and I would’ve been okay. His invited for dinner tonight with my family as birthday celebration. But still that shouldn’t stop him from saying a simple happy birthday message. It’s seriously put me in a bad mood, it’s acting like it’s a normal day as if he doesn’t even care. Usual boyfriends will message on the dot of 12. As sad as it sounds make you feel special and valued, is it normal for guys to do this? Am I overlooking it? For his birthday I messaged him on the dot, did insta stories with him and he still met up with him on his birthday.
