When you organize a party, do you prefer to invite guys or girls? Or both?

For tonight I specified to my buddy I prefer to have a 3 girl to 1 guy ratio, I'm putting the money for this party and I don't want a sausage party Iol. What about you?

The trick is to invite a lot of gay guys and they will bring their female friends.

Every party I've been to with the most girls, also had a few gay guys there as well. Any other party was a sausage party with like one girl who disappears soon after she came.

I've even been to parties where I was the one who brought the only girls. And I'm not the kind of guy who can do such a thing. I'm not cool or a ladies man or anything like that. So it makes it extra sad and pathetic when it was ME who brought the girls lol.

What is your fiance saying to this? I dont know if you still have a fiance but would you be ok if your girlfriend/fiance make a party which only have guys as guests. I dont understand your intention especially that you only invite girls when you are taken. I personally would only invite people i really know well

In my extensive experience as party-thrower and as a bar manager... invite women, and men will show up, don’t worry, haha. I usually would invite my closest buddies, but the majority of the invites were focused on women. The numbers will break roughly even, usually. Otherwise you might have a sword fight on your hands, and no dude wants that lmfao.

Both. I worry less about the ratio and more about making sure that there's enough guys there that they can talk amungst themselves and girls that they can talk amungst themselves. Just for short periods of time. If there's 10 guys and 2 girls that's usually kinda tieing for the girls, same with guys. If you can get enough that they can entertain themselves for short periods of time, just to get a break I think that's what you want to try to do.

I'm not one to organize a party but I would invite more girls than guys as I seem to interact with women easier then men for some reason. I'm straight but just find talking to most men less interesting and just hard to do. Women I find easier despite the difference in gender and biological stuff. I like talking to women about their opinions and have had better experiences with them listening to me and having good conversations.

Did you have a theme? I noticed theme parties usually attracted more girls. Back in the day my old roommate and myself used to do that.

I know how you feel about the “sausage fest” dynamic. Sucks for our gender to be necessary hypocrites. But realize we our turn to get disciminated against could be around the corner.

As long as I have friends I enjoy being with, I don't care. I've had parties where it was close to 50/50. Where we were mostly girls and I've been drinking with 2 close guys friends as well.

I prefer to call my girlfriends because they understand me so well. I do the same. I have to be extra cautious while I'm making a guy friend because they hit on me a lot. I don't want to have that kind of tension in my mind.

So you are trying to have a party in order to get laid, and then trying to hedge the margins to ensure you get some. Pretty desperate if you ask me, and a terrible reason for a party. Especially considering covid.

Mostly guys and a few other girls that know how to have fun. It’s weird being the only girl at the party and it’s a different kind of party when it’s mostly girls. Boys bring the crazy, and a few girls who can appreciate crazy make it a real party.

all depends on the type of party. Lifestyle party: we invite mainly couples with a token single guy and couple unicorns. A nudist party: we invite families.
