A line that calls them cheap for that is just the epitome of a toxic bitch line: An egotistical deflection to defer responsibility or need to compromise -- an *excuse*.
Biologically, men are designed to be providers. While women are designed to want to be taken care of and be nurturers to children. there's no explanation for it. Its just the way it is.
And women who consume less resources are superior, even from that biological perspective.
Being wired to be taken care of doesn't entitle them to be taken care of. It's an urge that needs to be reconciled with reality. Reality doesn't conform to the urge. And that's what the toxic belief is for, it's an attempt by the woman to milk the situation. Hence, women who don't do that stuff are that much more attractive to men.

From a biological perspective, the men who are most likely to provide well for their woman tend to be the ones who procreate. Women will always prefer a man who can take care of them well rather than some broke dude. Just the same way you will always prefer a pretty girl over an ugly one.
No, I think it is increasingly important to not produce waste, not really about money but more about the environment, at least for me. The amount of useless shit people buy that adds to the landfills and toxic chemicals in the air is alarming.

ALL women? I've met quite a few who really didn't care about material wealth, their boyfriends/husbands earning less than they. My brother found someone quite rich when he was unemployed, and he's not exactly good looking either. Other things, like personality, count as well and should not be so easily overlooked.

@Yaaten Women like to marry "up", not down. High status women tend to only date other high status men. Men like to marry "down" because he likes to feel like he is providing for his wife. And statistics show that men who marry higher status women, tend to divorce more frequently.
