Should I ask her and is it appropriate?

Hey lads and specifically ladies for this question...
I have a second job on the side as a lorry driver for a food company. Once or twice a week, I deliver to a place that has a really sweet, pretty and funny girl working there. I've no idea if she's single or anything about her, only that she's part Spanish and works where she does. We only really say hello and she always offers me a coffee but I'm going to be honest.. I really like her and I feel a connection with her.

So my question is... Do I risk the work boundaries and ask her for a coffee? Is that appropriate? I would hate for her to think I'm a wierdo but maybe she likes me too?

As the employee of a company, you break one of the most important rules of the trust your boss has placed into you and that is never to mingle with customers while on duty.

You can do whatever you want when you are off-duty but never ever start flirting or asking for a phone number or ask her on a date while you are under contract.

This is the most basic behavior and you should keep being professional and not mix your private life with your professional one.

What would happen if the girl feels offended and wants to speak to your boss or HR about your behavior? Would you boss like that you are being unprofessional? Always think of the possible negative consequences.

That is exactly the dilemma I had. I know that you are right and I know how it works. Sometimes difficult to separate personal and professional. But I would absolutely hate for her to be uncomfortable and cause a scene. Thanks for the advice. I feel silly for asking now 🤣

There is no need to feel silly. Other people have other opinions and sometimes, you see an aspect of the problem that you did not think of when you asked the question.
