I don't think so. The main "standard" that I have is that a relationship is not worth pursuing unless it will make me happier than I already am. Now I would already consider myself a very happy person, so that's certainly a high bar. But I wouldn't call it ridiculous. Because why would I want to date someone who doesn't add enjoyment to my life? Most of the women I talk to have a similar outlook. (Except for a few people who just don't know how to be single, in which case their standards are lower, not higher).
If men's standards are lower than that, maybe that's their problem.
Honestly I think that part of the reason that so many men are desperate to date is that men are told that they aren't allowed to be emotional. The one exception to this is often when they're with their significant other.
It's also why men get mad when women are just friends with them. Because if we share our emotions with them, they think it means something. Because many men have been conditioned to believe that that's something that only happens in relationships. But women do that with their friends already.
If we're solely talking physical standards, I still don't think we have ridiculous standards - at least not any more than men do. Our standards are just more obvious because men are usually the ones asking someone out. And therefore men are the one's getting rejected.
But if a guy is getting rejected ALL the time I actually think it's probably his standards that are too high. Most of the guys I see complaining about that only ask out women who are far more attractive than they are, and then calling the women shallow for not wanting to date them due to their appearance, when appearance was the very reason they chose those women in the first place. But that's an individual thing. And some individual women may have standards that are too high as well.

The truth is that both sides are equally messed up when it comes to standards, though in different ways. Also, everyone has their own idea of what they want and generalizing standards for either side is just childish. Some have high standards, some have low standards, and others still have no standards... Some people base everything off what they see on tv and other media and others base their standards off the books they read as a kid. The best way to avoid disappointment is to be honest from the beginning and say what your standards are, saves time and effort and no one gets hurt.

I think men are more superficial (i. e. they won't date someone they aren't attracted to.) Thankfully most men are attracted to most women. But women have higher standards. I mean the numbers dont lie. less than 10% of women can't find a relationship and most of those are voluntary.
